On April 3, the 2022 Grammys are celebrated and Peru is experiencing great expectations, because in the list of nominations is the pecusionist Tony Succar, who has not stopped sharing through his social networks the exciting moments he lives in Las Vegas, prior to the grand gala. As you remember, our compatriot fights in the Best Tropical Latin Album category.
Hours before the ceremony that awards the best in music, Tony had the opportunity to talk to greats in this industry, especially with those he considers his idols and with more experience. These are John Legend, Herbie Hancock and Jon Batiste, whom the percussionist highlighted as humble people from whom he continues to learn.
“Musical legends, idols! John Legend, Herbie Hancock and Jon Batiste (11 times nominated this year). I have noticed that the greatest are often the most humble, that is the example that we all have to follow,” the Peruvian wrote on his social networks.

“What an incredible experience to be able to meet them even for a few seconds, the inspiration they give me is impressive! I love their essence, their culture, merging this with Latin is something that defines who I am musically,” said the artist, who did not hesitate to label international figures, where he also attached a video joking with Jon Batiste.
TONY SUCCAR PROUD TO REPRESENT PERU
As you remember, Tony Succar is in Las Vegas representing our country with great pride. In a recent interview for Infobae, the two-time Latin Grammy winner pointed out that he does not have a speech prepared in case of winning the trophy and that he will not a ritual of good luck. Instead, he will spend it with his parents and brother, with whom he traveled to the United States to attend the ceremony.
“I don't have a ritual so to speak, but I always try to put myself in a positive mind. I try to make myself aware that I am there (at the Grammys) and winning. Put me in that vibe in the positive and that is already happening. However, sometimes it doesn't work, but sometimes it does like in 2019 when I was a double winner at the Latin Grammys. Positive mind!” , he said.
He was also proud to be the only Peruvian nominee at such an important gala. “I am honored that I can represent my country and I am lucky to be Peruvian. Being Peruvian is the best, we have everything and I am proud to represent my country. I'm never going to stop, I'm always going to make good music representing my Peru,” he said.
“All Peru's support is immense. I would tell all the fans that Peru is present at the Grammys. Let's go Peru! , we are going to continue making art and we are growing. Let's go forward Peru!” , he added.
