New questions appear after the admission test in the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM). This time they are related to the care provided by the institution to those who aspire to obtain a place on the student staff. Several social media posts have shown the effects of unprotected sun exposure as the skin of several young people show signs of irritation caused by the sun's rays.

This is the result of Rector Jerí's insane mind. He only cares about paying the right to the exam, which is not cheap at all, but in return students who are ripped off, fainted and with heat stroke, etc.,” says the publication of a user identified as Marcia Aguilar in which he tagged the Ministry of Education and Sunedu.

After sun exposure, my daughter gets burned. It is not possible that the university does not think that any student can take his exams under these conditions. With such heat who can concentrate on answering the questions well. That is an attack on the health of the applicants. Where are the authorities of the Ministry of Health and the prosecutor's office to report such an outrage?” , is read in one of the comments on Facebook.

The aforementioned publication attaches an image in which it is possible to see how the applicant's skin showed marks of sunburn. It should be recalled that, according to Senamhi, the maximum temperature forecast for today, Saturday, April 2nd, was 26ºC. In addition, in recent months the levels of ultraviolet radiation have ranged from high to extremely high. The value reached regularly at the measuring station located in San Martín de Porres is 11 points, a figure that is part of the extremely high level.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Images released by UNMSM on social networks reveal that preventive measures were taken for the effects of the sun. The applicants received a cardboard cap and a bottle of water; however, these were insufficient for the other effects that can be generated by constant sun exposure. One of those affected pointed out that the S/560 paid for the right of examination would have served to prepare the spaces so that no person's health is affected. As of the closure of this note, the institution has not commented on the measures to be taken in response to the complaints.

As Peru continues to face the COVID-19 pandemic so far, it is known that the institution adopted the measure of taking the test outdoors to avoid gathering applicants in closed spaces where the virus could remain. This is not the first time that an exam has been taken at UNMSM taking these measures; however, the climate situation in the capital did not favor those who returned to the university campus this Saturday to take the entrance test.

It should be recalled that the test taken this morning was given due to the cancellation of the previous one after it was discovered that the evaluation had been filtered and some applicants had received external help in order to enter the study center. On the night of March 12, a first post by a user identified as Josue Vasquez showed images of a chat where there were some of the questions that were part of the entrance test. However, the fact that attracted the most attention was the identical score of several applicants. Greycy Lyliana Quintos Vilchez and Jwen Lizeth Quintos Vilchez, two supposed sisters who applied for the Human Medicine degree, had exactly the same score.
