The head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, will tour the states of Aguascalientes and Durango to show her support for the candidates of the Movimiento de Regeneración Nacional (Morena) party and the Juntos Haremos Historia coalition, Nora Ruvalcaba and Marina Vitela, respectively.

This Sunday, April 3, the political parties, with their respective candidates, began campaigns in five states of the Republic: Aguascalientes, Durango, Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, Tamaulipas and Hidalgo, in which the governorships of these entities will be renewed.

Along these lines, the capital's president showed her support for both candidates through her Twitter account. This was done in the framework of the upcoming elections on June 5.

Nora Ruvalcaba Gómez began her political activism in the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) and later joined the ranks of Morena. This is his third time in the search for the governorship of Aguascalientes, the state where he was born.

The first time she was a candidate for the PRD was in 2010. Six years later he tried again, but now with Morena, when he took fourth place in the vote. On both occasions he won less than 5% of the vote.

Ruvalcaba studied Social Sciences and Law at the Higher Normal School and the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. However, she had previously graduated from the Aguascalientes Normal School as a primary school teacher.

Part of her political career was developed as president of the Executive Committee of the municipality of Aguascalientes, secretariat of the Executive Committee of the state of Aguascalientes, as well as delegate of the welfare programs in that entity. Likewise, in 2021 she was Arturo Vila's campaign coordinator in his bid for the municipal presidency of Aguascalientes in the Juntos Haramos Historia coalition.

The other candidates for the Aguascalientes government are Teresa Jiménez from the Coalition Going for Mexico (PAN, PRI, PRD); Anayeli Muñoz of Citizen Movement; Natzielly Rodriguez from Fuerza for Mexico and Martha Cecilia Márquez, from the Labor Party (PT) in coalition with the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM).

For her part, Marina Vitela has an academic background in Health Sciences, since she studied nursing at the Institute of Secondary and Higher Education MA. This is how she worked as a nurse at the Red Cross of Torreón, Coahuila, as well as at the Mexican Institute of Social Security and at the Institute of Social Security and Services of State Workers (ISSSTE), both in Gómez Palacio, Durango.

Her political career was carried out as a union delegate of the ISSSTE Nursery in Durango. From 2007 to 2012 she was the leader of the National Agency of PRI Women (ONMPRI) and from 2009 to 2012 she served as general secretary of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Durango.

It should be recalled that on March 31, the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) fined Morena 18,762.90 pesos because Marina Vitela made a promotional spot for her candidacy featuring a minor.

The other candidates for the Durango gubernatorial are Patricia Flores Elizondo, from Movimiento Ciudadano, and Esteban Alejandro Villegas, from the Va por México coalition, formed by the PRI, PRD and PAN.
