This 2022 marks the 27th anniversary of the regrettable death of Selena Quintanilla, an artist of Mexican descent who conquered the public with her songs setting the tone for future Latin singers abroad. Despite the weather, the Queen of Tex-Mex remains present within the culture and both her thousands of fans and her loved ones remember her fondly.
Such is the case of Chris Pérez, the musician who stole the performer's heart as soon as she joined ibSelena and the Dinos as a guitarist. On April 2, the singer's widower took to his Instagram account to share an unpublished photograph that was taken after they decided to elope to marry, leaving aside the Quintanilla family's refusal.
The unpublished photograph shows the happy couple embracing each other as they looked to the side, behind it was a wall with a ledge where different items were found, as well as a painting with a drawing. Both posed coordinated in black clothes and, although at that time they did not bring out their smiles, they let a glimpse of the intense love they had for each other.
The lovers united their lives in marriage on April 2, 1992 and this year they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage. It is worth mentioning that the performer of Como la flor, Amor Prohibido, If Once, among other successes, was murdered days before her 24th birthday and celebrated her third anniversary of marriage with her dear husband.
Chris Perez accompanied the touching postcard with a short, but meaningful message. The musician did not write anything specific about who his wife was, but he acknowledged that since his secret wedding he has grown in all aspects despite the deep pain that his unexpected departure left him.
“April 2, 1992. Wow... what a journey it's been since. Growth has been exponential... as a musician, as an artist and entrepreneur, as a man... life has some crazy twists and turns... Keep going! Make your peeps proud! ”, he wrote.
The comment box soon filled with heartfelt dedications for the late star and some messages of encouragement for her widower. Some users of the platform also applauded the musician's keeping in mind the torrid romance he had with the singer and thanked her inspiring words.
“How nice it would be to see them turning 30 years married, with their hairs already white, thank you for showing us and the world what true love is. My favorite couple forever!!” , “They were so young, we love seeing these kinds of posts Chris! ”, “There is no doubt, a true love. The years pass and go by and you continue to show us that in your heart it remains”, were some comments.
