18 properties in Bogotá were applied to extinction of domain due to drug trafficking

The properties are located in the towns of Santa Fe, San Cristóbal, Martyrs, Kennedy, Bosa, Rafael Uribe and Engativa, in the center, south and west of the city and could exceed 11.63 billion pesos in value.

This Sunday it became known that the Public Prosecutor's Office, together with the Sijín of the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, occupied 18 properties for the purpose of extinction of the right of ownership, which had been acquired with money as a result of drug trafficking.

“The assets affected by measures of suspension of disposition, embargo and kidnapping are located in the towns of Santa Fe, San Cristóbal, Martyrs, Kennedy, Bosa, Rafael Uribe and Engativa, in the center, south and west of Bogotá. According to preliminary calculations, they could exceed 11.63 billion pesos in value,” said the Prosecutor's Office.

The entity reported that these assets would belong to 13 criminal structures dedicated to the commercialization of marijuana, cocaine and bazooco, among other illegal substances on public roads, parks and school environments. These are the organizations known as La Bomba, El Negro, La Mona, Alejo, José Luis, David, Gancho de Tigre, Los Cruces, El Mono, Los Pogos, Los Santandereanos, El Gordo and Los Sanbernardinos.

The affected properties apparently served these drug networks and were used for the storage, sale and consumption of narcotic drugs.

It is noteworthy that, for these activities, the Prosecutor's Office has managed to capture 47 people, including leaders and members, who have been prosecuted for crimes such as: concert to commit crimes for the purpose of drug trafficking; trafficking, manufacture and carrying of narcotic drugs; and trafficking, manufacturing or carrying firearms.

In addition, the Prosecutor's Office stressed that this result is part of the 'Argenta' strategy, designed to affect the illicit heritage of drug trafficking groups, crime and organized crime.

Among the seized assets is a vehicle that was apparently used to transport the alleged killers of a National Police officer killed in October 2021 in the east of the capital of the Republic.

It is noteworthy that several actions have been carried out with regard to drug trafficking in the city. A few weeks ago, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá announced that the Dijin of the National Police captured three people from the same family, allegedly members of the gang called Los Tenilinos, dedicated to drug trafficking in the Florida, Jaboque and Engativa Centro sectors.

Similarly, the District Administration explained that, according to information from the authorities, “among those captured is the woman known as La Mona, 50, who is accused of storing and distributing cocaine, bazuco and marijuana along with her 30-year-old daughter, also captured in the three raids carried out in Engativa”.

In the operation, more than 4,000 doses of cocaine and its derivatives were seized, and more than 1,200 doses of creepy-type marijuana, cash in low-denomination banknotes, and 86 hermetic single-dose bags, among other items for the dosing and concealment of narcotics.

Investigations by the National Police revealed that Los Tenilinos, operated looking for tenant-type housing, where the rental requirements were not so demanding, in order to “easily access the rental of the same”.

Thus, in carrying out investigative proceedings, the authorities managed to establish that the owners or landlords “were third parties in good faith, since they had no knowledge of the criminal activities carried out by this criminal family clan”.
