The Peruvian national team to win the repechage against Australia or the United Arab Emirates on June 13, the two-color will be in the same group of France and Denmark at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, as happened in Russia 2018. The other member of Group D is Tunisia.

However, one of the few pleasant memories for Peruvians was losing 0-1 to Denmark on the first date of the World Cup Russia 2018, since that result eliminated Peru from the tournament.

Now, both teams will once again face each other, if Peru eliminates the winner of Australia against the United Arab Emirates in the repechage.

For this reason, Infobae contacted the Danish journalist, Soren Sorgenfri, to tell us about the present of his team and give his opinion on a possible new confrontation with the Peruvian national team

“Once again Peru and Denmark can meet in the group stage of the World Cup. The last time Peru deserved better than going home before the round of 16 and, to be honest, the Danish team should have played better football at that time than they did,” Soren Sorgenfri told Infobae exclusively.

In turn, the Danish journalist confessed that his selection has changed his style of play throughout this time, so that Ricardo Gareca, coach from Peru, takes note. “Now 4 years later it's a very different Danish team. They don't just play for a result anymore, they play to entertain with constant waves of attacks,” said Soren Sorgenfri

THE NEW VERSION OF DENMARK

“Christian Eriksen is back and he looks stronger than ever. But the Danish team is no longer just Eriksen. Names like Damsgaard and Skov Olsen are players for the present and the future. They can create chances and score goals,” said the Danish colleague.

In turn, he revealed what is the defensive style and systems of play used by Kasper Hjulmand, coach from Denmark, who on March 29 won an important victory in a friendly 3-0 against Serbia.

“The defense with Chelsea player Andreas Christensen and AC Milan player Simon Kjær is extremely strong and rarely allows goals to be scored. Denmark with Kasper Hjulmand as national coach plays 4-3-3 or 3-4-3. If it is a 4-3-3 it will be a 2-5-3 when Denmark is attacking making room for another player to see it. Joaquín Mæhle, the Atalanta winger, is quickly becoming a world-class player and it is not surprising, as he has scored 8 goals in 12 months for the Danish national team,” Soren Sorgenfri told Infobae.

“And this must be taken into account. When Eriksen is expected to do all the tricks, keep an eye out not only for Joachim Mæhle as a left-back. Take a look on the right side. Rasmus Kristensen plays for RB Salzburg and is becoming a very strong right-back,” he added.

However, Denmark has problems to solve. The backup players are not convincing. Denmark lacks quality in depth. Another problem is number 9.

“The good striker Kasper Dolberg is not yet the natural striker he should be and for some reason Kasper Hjulmand prefers to keep the strong attacker Andreas Cornelius on the bench as a substitute,” the Danish journalist added.

Another star of the Danish national team is not at a good level, as Danish journalist Soren Sorgenfri tells us. “Barcelona player Martin Braithwaite isn't having much action in Barcelona and is expected to move to another club in the summer. So, overall, the Danish team is stronger now than it was four years ago, but it still has some weaknesses. If Denmark is facing the United Arab Emirates or Australia, then there will be no problem. If it's going to be Peru. Then I'm not so sure. That could be a difficult rival again,” he sentenced Infobae.

Denmark's starting lineup:

Schmeichel — Rasmus Nissen, Andreas Christensen, Simon Kjær, Joachim Mähle — Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Thomas Delaney, Christian Eriksen — Andreas Skov Olsen, Kasper Dolberg y Andreas Damsgaard.
