Who were the youngest artists to receive an award

Since 1959, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has awarded Grammys to recognize the most outstanding musical work of each year.

Luis Miguel

After the first Grammys ceremony, it was a quarter of a century before a teenager of almost 15 years old got his statuette, becoming the youngest singer to be awarded in the history of these awards. The name of that young man is Luis Miguel, also known as El sol.

By 1985, Luis Miguel was a few months away from his 15th birthday, the song that led him to win the award was I like you like me, which he sang with Sheena Easton. That performance won the Grammy for Best Mexican-American Performance in the 27th edition of these awards.

It should be noted that for 11 years, the famous singer remained with the title of being the youngest musical artist to have ever received a Grammy.

Luis Miguel began his career as a child, quickly standing out among the international audience, throughout his career, the performer of hits such as La Unconditional and Cuando Caliente el Sol has won a total of six Grammys.

Margaret LeAnn Rimes is a singer of the country genre who won her first Grammy a year after her debut in the music industry. By 1997, the author of the hit album Blue was just 14 years old.

The Grammy that LeAnn Rimes won was that of Revelation Artist of the Year, thanks to this award, she was known for five years as the youngest artist to win this award, since at the time of receiving it she was a few months younger than Luis Miguel.

The fellow Folk singer sold more than six million copies of her first album in the United States, later pursued her music career and in 2007, she made a duet with Jon Bon Jovi playing Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore.

In 2001, the Peasall sisters (The Peasall Sisters) won the Grammy for Best Album of the Year for their participation in the soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The third of girls sang country and consisted of Leah Peasall, who was 8 years old at the time; Hannah Peasall, who was 11 years old and Sarah Peasall, who was 14 at the time of the 44th edition of this award.

This is why, historically, Leah Peasall is the youngest girl to win a Grammy in all editions, although unlike her young colleagues, the American won it as a group.

Miguel Ángel Valenzuela Morales, better known as Miguelito, is a Puerto Rican reggatonero who captivated the urban genre industry at the age of almost 10.

In 2008, Miguelito won the Grammy for the Best Latin Children's Album. On several occasions, the now 23-year-old has named himself as The Heir, as he inspired his musical career in the hits of Daddy Yankee.

In addition to his musical career and fame in several Latin American countries, Miguelito became an activist against social violence.

In the 56th edition of the Grammys, singer Lorde got her first gramophone thanks to the song Royals, which played non-stop on social media and radio around 2014.

When she was awarded Best Pop Solo Vocal Performance, Lorde was 17 years old. Although she was no younger than her colleagues, she is considered one of the youngest in the history of the Grammys. It should be noted that Miguelito was the same age when he received his Grammy, but he was just 10 years old while Blue Ivy had his 9 years old; on the other hand, Beyoncé's daughter was older than Leah Peasall when she was recognized.
