The two outstanding figures in Pulp Fiction and regular actors of Quentin Tarantino, are reunited in a thriller with shades of black comedy called The Kill Room, as reported this afternoon. It will be a film written by Jonathan Jacobson and directed by Nicol Paone, who comes from directing his debut feature Friendsgiving.
The story follows a hit man, his boss (Jackson), an art dealer (Thurman) and a money-laundering scheme that accidentally turns the killer into an avant-garde sensation overnight. This will become a delusional scenario where black humor will be the main tone of fiction.
“Getting to make The Kill Room, with an already incredible script, with Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson, is beyond my wildest dreams,” said director Paone. She wrote in recent years, but worked more as an actress since 1998. Finally, today he dedicates himself to directing and his feature debut was Friendsgiving, starring Malin Akerman and Kat Dennings. “Every moment they appear on screen, they are both enviable and eye-catching. I am eternally grateful to both of them for saying yes, and I am delighted to bring it to life together with Anne Clements and Yale Productions,” the director confessed with the confirmation of the lead duo.
The protagonist of Kill Bill comes from starring in La suspicion, the policeman with American and British production where she is a senior president who suffers the kidnapping of her son. Jackson, who received an honorary Oscar for a career that spanned films such as Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, the Star Wars prequel trilogy and 11 Marvel titles, is also premiering The Last Days of Grey Ptolemy. Both actors are the strong names of Apple TV+.
The film, although it does not yet have all the names confirmed, would begin to be filmed in New Jersey and New York. The Kill Room would be released in 2023.
