They handed down a 50-year prison sentence against Ivan Eduardo “H”, alias “El Güero Texas”, alleged regional leader of the Northeast Cartel in the state of Tamaulipas.
The Office of the Attorney General of Justice of the State (FGJE) released the opinion through its social networks. According to the brief message issued by the Prosecutor's Office, a conviction was obtained for Al Güero Texas for the crime of aggravated kidnapping, which occurred in 2017.

Iván Eduardo was arrested in May 2018 in the municipality of Escobedo, located in the state of Nuevo León, where the same criminal organization also operated for him. Municipal and state police participated in the arrest.
He was apprehended after a chase at the junction of the Colombia highway towards the Monclova highway along with another 22-year-old man identified as Miguel Jair.
The detainees were traveling in a GMC Sierra van, which tried to escape after being intercepted by the authorities. This led to a pursuit in these sections.
However, Güero Texas and his alleged accomplice lost control of the van and it hit a retaining wall, so they were able to arrest the two. While other alleged accomplices escaped in a white Cheyenne unit.
They were secured with numerous doses of cocaine and synthetic drug (crystal). He has been identified as part of the Northeast Cartel and regional leader of that organization in Victoria City.
Since then, it had been mentioned that in the state of Tamaulipas, an arrest warrant had been issued against Güero Texas for its illegal activities in the entity, mainly for attacks against public servants.
Therefore, they communicated with their counterparts to have him transferred to the Ciudad Victoria Sanctions Execution Centre.
In addition to the time he will have to serve in prison, he must also pay the amount of 337,960 pesos.
Similarly, on March 13, the arrest of “Huevo” Treviño, leader of the Northeast Cartel in Nuevo Laredo, was arrested, which caused a wave of violence in the state during the early hours of the 14th.
He is the nephew of the last leader of Los Zetas, Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, the Z-40 and Oscar Omar Treviño Morales, the Z-42. He is also the leader of the armed group Troops of Hell, a cell of the Northeast Cartel that has unleashed violence in the Tamaulipas entity.
Treviño was extradited to the United States a few hours after his capture, where he faces charges related to drug trafficking and money laundering.
While in Mexico he is wanted for enforced disappearance since he and his criminal cell wore Navy costumes to carry out their crimes.
For more than two decades, between 2000 and 2012, Tamaulipas has continuously suffered the effects of criminal brutality due to clashes between criminal groups such as the Gulf Cartel, Los Zetas, as well as with groups from the Sinaloa and Juárez Cartels.
