In the cycling calendar in Europe he continues his way now with the Miguel Indurain GP this April 2 in Spain. Several of the greatest figures in world cycling will be presented there, such as the Portuguese Joao Almeida of the UAE Team Emirates, the Spaniard Enric Mas of the Movistar Team, Pierre Latour with the Total Direct Energie, among others.

The Iberian competition, which for this 2022 will complete its 31st edition, will have a route of 203.2 kilometers in the same town of Estella Lizarra. The course will feature some mountains of 1st and 2nd category and 5 intermediate sprints. The end is consolidated as a challenge for the favorites, as it will be done in relegation.

The last grand prize champion was Alejandro Valverde in 2021, although this year he will not be able to defend his title, his Movistar Team will send a very strong group to fight for victory and remain at home.

On the side of Colombian cyclists, it is expected that there will be a good number of them in the race, as it is usually a competition that is well suited to some of them.

Arkea Samsic will have 2 of the 4 coffee growers that make up the Breton team: Winner Anacona, who comes from accompanying Nairo in the Vuelta a Catalunya, and Dayer Quintana, both of whom will be gregarious of the Frenchman Warren Barguil who will arrive as leader of the squad to seek the final victory.

Other Colombians who would arrive as gregarious for his teams are Alejandro Osorio at Bahrain Victorious who has made a smooth start to the season and learning from his teammates in his first year as WorldTour. In addition, the Kazakh team, Astana will have in its ranks the experienced Sebastian Henao who comes from being one of the most outstanding gregarians of the Ineos Grenadiers team for a time.

Daniel Mendez would be making his number three appearance with Kern Pharma this season in the one-day race and maybe warms up and then going to the Vuelta la País Basque.

Finally, on the list of coffee riders who will take the match in Spain, is the recent champion of the Vuelta a Catalunya 2022, Sergio Higuita, who has been having a great sporting level with his new team Bora hansgrohe.

Higuita will arrive as one of the favorite riders to win the title, because although he is very fond of stage races, he has also shown great qualities when it comes to playing one-day classics.

This type of competition, besides being important for the cyclists' record if they win them, is very useful for riders who are about to race the first big three-week round of the year: the Giro d'Italia.

As a preparation it is relevant for many cyclists, although for the Colombians who are mentioned not so much, since some of them would only be in the Vuelta España this year during the month of August.

For many years now Colombians have been a fundamental part of the European teams when it comes to seeking a good result in an overall standings or a stage victory, so this year is no exception as seen in the results during these first three months that have passed.
