“The Good Doctor” and “The Rookie” will have more seasons

The US network ABC approved the renewal of both series, which, in recent years, have accumulated large numbers of viewers

More episodes of The Good Doctor and The Rookie will hit the audience screens, after the ABC network renewed both series that have been on its grid for some time contents. Both titles are among their most watched shows in the most recent figures, a clear reason why they have decided to continue with new seasons as a continuation.

The medical drama starring Freddie Highmore (Dr. Shaun Murphy in fiction) will release its sixth installment between this year and next year, and will also feature stars Hill Harper, Richard Schiff, Christina Chang, Fiona Gubelmann, Will Yun Lee, Paige Spara, Noah Galvin and Bria Samone Henderson. This is a remake of the South Korean series that was adapted to the American context by David Shore.

Shaun is a brilliant young surgeon with autism and a diagnosis of Savant syndrome, or also known as “sage syndrome”, of which very little is known in modern medicine. He is transferred to San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital, where you will have to be part of the prestigious surgical department and will have to learn to work as a team and strengthen your emotional bonds with others to fully develop in your profession as a doctor.

According to information published by The Hollywood Reporter, this production has an average of 10.4 million viewers in the US and is among the favorites of the American public. It should be noted that, in Latin America, all chapters can be enjoyed through the Prime Video platform.

The Rookie also received a renovation

The Rookie, starring Nathan Fillion, will also have a new batch of episodes that will be released in 2022 and will feature a spin-off in which Niecy Nash will be the lead actress. The US TV rating is 9.4 million viewers, so it will also remain on the air and will reconvene its cast, also consisting of Mekia Cox, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O'Neil, Eric Winter, Jenna Dewan and Shawn Ashmore.

The story of John Nolan captivated since his debut in 2018 for the small screen. Based on real events, the plot follows a 40-year-old man who decides to go after an old dream: to become a policeman. Despite his age, he happens to be the rookie of the Los Angeles Police Department, something that will bring him certain problems in his life on and off work. For Latin American viewers, the first two seasons can be watched from Paramount+ and via cable through Universal.
