Brazil's national team is one of the top candidates to win the World Cup in Qatar, due to performance and proper names, although for that it will have to go through a difficult area in the first phase. For Group G it must be measured against Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon. For this reason, some point out that it could be the “Death Group”, something that their coach disbelieves.
“Neither death nor life group, everyone always has a degree of difficulty. (In another area) There is Portugal with Uruguay, South Korea and Ghana...”, said Tite who will lead his second world championship at the helm of his country's team, after his experience in Russia 2018.
One of the most repeated questions about Tite was linked to the impossibility of the South American teams to measure themselves against those of Europe in the last half and whether this was a disadvantage. The coach insisted that although it is not ideal, all the teams will suffer from this reality and warned that many will be amazed at the level of the Conmebol teams. “Reaching a great time is key. To say that South Americans are strong and that Europeans may not be strong... You're going to be surprised by Ecuador, huh? Listen to what I'm saying.”
The team led by Gustavo Alfaro will debut against Qatar in the opening match of the World Cup in Group A and then face the Netherlands and Senegal. For Tite, the Europeans will not expect to run into an opponent like Ecuador, who ranked third in the qualifiers and showed a great level.
On the other hand, the runner-up coach of America was happy that his debut is three days after the start of the contest: “Any time you can have with the players, training, is an advantage,” he said in dialogue with Brazilian media.
“I watched the Swiss match, they played right after us during the qualifiers. It was against Italy, they were up 1-0 from the start and almost made 2-0, but they ended up drawing. They are world-class, a high level, so we will also have to play at a high level,” he commented on what will be their second match, since the debut will be against Serbia.
