The best burgers in Bogotá come together at 'Burgerville'

The festival runs until April 3 at the Museo el Chicó in Bogotá

From April 1st to Sunday 3rd of the same month, Burgerville arrives at the El Chicó Museum in Bogotá, a festival in which the most select hamburger restaurants in the city will offer their versions of the queen of fast food.

This small hamburger village was born from the work of the founder and creator of Bogotaeats, Alejandro Escallón, who for 8 years since his Instagram profile, has been tracking him and reviewing the most varied food places in the Colombian capital.

In this first edition there are 20 of the best burgers in Bogotá but also, “there will be another 10 important restaurants in the capital that are not burger shops and are going to create a hamburger specially designed for this occasion,” said Escallón.

Each restaurant will have a hamburger proposal with prices ranging from 12,000 to 18,000 pesos. In addition, they will be medium-sized dishes, so that attendees can be satisfied, but also, so that they can try all kinds of gastronomic proposals.

The festival has guaranteed that there is a wide variety of burgers to try, from the classic one with beef to proposals with other ingredients and proteins, as well as the increasingly deep-rooted vegetarian burgers.

Likewise, some typical restaurants from countries such as Greece, Italy, Spain and even Asia will take place, presenting their commitment to extraordinary burgers, with an accompaniment, typical of the house, since they were licensed to propose different things.

We set a weight limit, they cannot exceed 100 grams, because the idea, as in A Cielo Abierto, is that people can go and try several proposals. We will also have a dessert area to which we invite well-known pastry sites,” explained Escallón.

But in addition to the dining experience, Burgerville attendees will be able to enjoy the best of live music. According to the general director of Bogotáeats: “As if that were not enough, we have a person dedicated exclusively to music curation, so every detail of what is going to sound like at this festival is carefully planned.”

In addition, there will be a cocktail bar specially made for the festival, games, a dessert area and even a drive-in cinema will complete this tribute to the hamburger and the 1950s as Escallón “loves the history it has (the hamburger) has had for a century in the United States, which is why we decided to set the festival this year in the decade of the 50's”.

Some of the burger restaurants that will be part of the festival are Agadon, Amma Café, El Arabe, Bandido, Bicone, La Brasserie, Bubu Burgers, Burger Fries and Co, Dilip, Diner, Dixie Chicken House, Emilia Grace, Elecktra, Elemental, La Fame, Gaba, Gauchos, Gordo, Home Burgers, Juan Burgers, Just a Burger, Ko, Lorenzo El Griego, The Struggle, Officer, The He paints, Sir Frank, Ugly American, Voodoo, The Xarcuteria.
