Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll is one of the most internationally recognized Colombian artists, not only because of her talent for dancing and performing songs, but also because of the environmental and solidarity causes she supports. La Barranquillera also stands out for the natural beauty and energy she retains at age 45, which she demonstrated in a recent video published on her official Instagram and TikTok accounts, where she has 61 and 18 million followers, respectively.

In the video, Shakira summarized a day when she went surfing, a sporting activity that barranquillera has been practicing several months ago with her children, and which was highlighted in the official video clip of her song 'Don't Wait Up'. On this occasion, the singer acknowledged that it was months without 'riding the waves'.

As portrayed by the Spanish portal Crónica Global, the Colombian singer went to the coastal area of Sitges with two friends to surf, and they highlighted the absence of her partner, Gerard Pique, and their two children. This site is renowned for its Mediterranean beaches and is located in the autonomous community of Catalonia, southwest of Barcelona.

Despite the 'forced fasting' that prevented her from practicing this discipline for several months, Shakira didn't seem to lose her surfing talent, stressing that she felt 'like riding a bike'. The Spanish portal highlighted that the last time the Colombian was seen surfing on the beaches of Sitges, Spain, was on October 16, 2020 and, previously, she had gone with her relatives.

Shakira explained in the video that when they went looking for a place to surf they saw only one person with their board in the sea, but they still tried. The lack of people practicing this sport is due to the fact that, recently, the climate authorities in that country have warned of a strong coastal storm on the Garraf coast, a situation that did not seem to be a problem for the Colombian woman and her friends.

Although the artist did not show herself on the waves, it was evident that she entered the sea with her friends because at the end of the broadcast video she appears with wet hair.

Barranquillera discovered a taste for this sport with her eldest son, who has been taking lessons. For her part, Shakira received classes from Dani García, Spanish surf champion in 2015 and four-time European champion in Master and Senior, who made a special publication highlighting the Colombian's talent to learn to surf like a professional.

“I was very interested in seeing the ability to improve an athlete with perfect control of her body, and it didn't disappoint. His improvement at times in a sport as complicated as ours, left me amazed. Few people have seen with such desire, attitude and perseverance. Three intense days rushing each bath until we couldn't take it anymore,” the athlete wrote in an October 2021 post.

Thanks to all the training, Shakira was able to appear with a board illuminated with LED lights, at the Siam Park water park in Tenerife, in her video for the song 'Don't wait up'. The artist's followers reacted positively to the video of her return to the beach as a surfer, also highlighting her natural beauty because in the recording Shakir appears without makeup.

“I love that nothing stops you from doing what you like”; “I love you my love everything you upload is art”; “I like that you show yourself as you are”; “You look super cute without makeup”, were some of the comments he received.
