This Friday, after the draw for the initial group stage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Mexico's rivals were announced. The Mexican National Team will be part of Group C, and will face Poland, Argentina and Saudi Arabia.
On November 22, the first of these matches will be played, and it will be against Poland at the Stadium of the City of Education. Subsequently, Mexico will face Argentina on Saturday, November 26, and finally, will face Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, November 30.
The Qatar World Cup will start on November 21, with a match between the host country and Ecuador. The football event will end on December 18.
Given this, surely many of the Mexican fans have already started packing their bags to travel to Qatar and enjoy the matches in which the Mexican National Team will participate, and that in this way, the players feel the support of their fans.
However, there are some requirements that are needed to travel to the Asian country, and here we tell you what they are.
To travel to Qatar, you will need your passport, a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, register with the Fan ID, download and register the Ehteraz app, as well as register with the Registration System for Mexicans (SIRME), among other actions and documents, so consider them before packing your suitcase.
According to the Traveler's Guide of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a government agency run by Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, Mexicans who want to enter Qatar to enjoy the 2022 FIFA World Cup will not need a Visa to enter the host country, since to enter it, they will have a permit to stay for 30 days, which may be extended for up to another 30 days.
The ones you must carry, is your passport, which you must verify that it is valid for at least six months, before starting the trip.
Another requirement is that you must register with the Fan ID, which is a platform that will be managed by the Qatari authorities, and it will be a kind of smart identification card that will help and facilitate some procedures during your stay in this territory, as it contains biometric data, electronic ticket access to the world cup and pass for public transport.
As for the COVID-19 pandemic, which is not yet completely over, it is important to remember that the situation could change according to the epidemiological traffic lights that each country carries for its control. Please note that everyone who wants to enter Qatar must present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate and a negative PCR test result within 72 hours prior to travel.
The vaccines approved by the Qatari Ministry of Health are: Pfizer/BioNTech; Moderna; AstraZeneca and Johnson&Johnson. On the other hand, vaccines that are considered conditional are: Sinopharm; Sinovac; Sputnik and Covaxin. Persons who present proof of vaccination with any of these latest vaccines will be subjected to an antigen test upon arrival in Qatar.
Another important point to consider in the area of health, regarding the pandemic, is that to enter the territory of the host country of the World Cup, it is mandatory to wear masks in all places, both open and closed, unless the indications change for those dates.
According to the SRE portal, to enter Qatar, all travelers must pre-register on the Ehteraz site, where you must attach documents and information requested. Among other things, they will ask you for the vaccination certificate, the reason for your trip, your itinerary and the details of the hotel where you are staying.
Once in the territory of the Asian country, you must have the Ehteraz application, with which you can generate a QR code that will allow you to enter almost every place. They will ask you for it at the hotel, transport and some other places.
