This Thursday, March 31, the Colombian Navy reported that a total of 982 kilograms of alkaloids were seized, 60 nautical miles from Providencia Island in waters of the Caribbean Sea and that they were mobilized aboard a Go Fast type boat manned by four subjects. The operation was carried out by units of the Colombian Navy and Air Force.
According to the information of the authorities, when the suspicious motor ship was detected, it was followed and monitored for a period of 12 hours, during which time “operational synergy between rapid reaction units of the Providencia Coast Guard Station, the Missile Frigate ARC Antioquia and a Horus type aircraft of the Colombian Air Force assigned to the Caribbean Air Group”.
“Despite the adverse weather conditions, the Go Fast type boat was fully located by the naval and air resources stationed in the area of the operation, which guided a Coast Guard Unit that interdicted the boat,” the Navy statement specified and likewise assured that the vessel was carrying 42 packages with the suspicious material.
The boat and its crew members were transported by the members of the Naval Institution to the San Andrés Coast Guard pier, where after being inspected, 1,170 rectangular packages were found. In this way, officials of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General's Office carried out an Approved Preliminary Identification Test -PIPH-, showing positive for 934.5 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 48 kilos of creepy marijuana.

It was also announced that the narcotic drug, which would be destined for Central America, would be valued at about 32 million dollars in the international illegal market. In addition, it was reported that the alkaloid along with the four captured, communications equipment, a 38mm caliber revolver and the immobilized vessel, were made available to officials of the Attorney General's Office.
Thanks to a joint investigation between the Attorney General's Office and the DIJIN of the National Police, it was possible to establish the identity of one of the alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking network responsible for the storage and exit of shipments of cocaine from San Andrés to various Central American countries, the drug was transported by speedboat vehicles.
The one identified as Jhon Jairo Osorio, alias' JJ ', is the one identified as the main responsible. According to the authorities, alias' JJ 'used a front as a merchant in the San Andresito sector in the capital of the country, where he tried to hide all his illegal activities.
They also specified that the drug was purchased in Cauca and then transported by cargo vehicles to Bogotá. In the investigation, they stated that part of the narcotic drugs remained in the capital to be distributed in 'pots' or local and regional stores. While much of the material was taken to San Andrés to be sent to Central America.
Along with JJ, alias Don José also fell, a former member of the National Navy, identified as Alexander Simanca, and who was part of the self-defenders, La Oficina and the Los Rastrojos gang currently known as the Gulf Clan. Don José' would allegedly be responsible for defining the boarding points and the areas through which the boats must circulate due to his knowledge of navigation.
