On Thursday, the commander of the National Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Interpol (Dijín), General Fernando Murillo, appeared before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) after he was called to respond to the incident of contempt that began against him by the presence of uniformed men at Dairo Antonio's hearings Usuga before that court.

On La W Radio, they indicated that the senior official attended to respond to the Absence of Recognition Section where he assured that constant accompaniment was required because there is a high risk of the flight of the most wanted drug traffickers in the country.

“After 'Matamba', which was part of this organization, it is clear that alias' Otoniel 'from the first moment of his capture he does not think about escaping, and he can do this with this organization that has more than 3,000 armed men,” they highlighted on that station what Murillo said.

While in the television news news RCN they stated that it was also necessary to guarantee the extradition of 'Otoniel' in the face of his dangerousness.

This incident of contempt was reported after the uniformed men kept the door of the courtroom in which the former capo stood at the hearings of 10 and 23 March, despite the fact that the judges had ordered that the courtroom be kept private. There was even disagreement on the part of victims' organizations about this situation.

However, General Murillo reiterated that they will maintain maximum security in the face of the risk of flight: “That is what we are referring to, that is what we have to justify and what Colombia cannot expect is that there will be an event like 'Matamba' like Aida Merlano, much less what happened to the businessman.”

Supreme Court denied recusation that requested the defense of 'Otoniel'

The request for recusal made against Judge Diego Corredor, who is conducting the extradition process of the one who was the top leader of the drug paramilitary group 'Clan del Golfo', was denied by the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, when the appeal filed by the defense of alias' Otoniel 'was declared by the defense of alias' Otoniel ', as unfounded.

According to the defense of Dario Úsuga 'Otoniel', the Magistrate had made some trills on Úsuga, for which they considered that Corredor's impartiality affected so that he continued to advance the extradition process.

But this decision was dismissed by the Supreme Court of Justice, now Judge Diego Corredor, continues with the Americans' request for extradition against 'Otoniel', for crimes of drug trafficking, use of firearms and homicide. For their part, the Court indicated that the extradition process is in the final part, at the stage of concluding arguments.

Alias' Otoniel ', who also has charges of enforced disappearance, recruitment of minors among other conflict crimes, is in a police headquarters in Bogotá with strict security measures.

On 'Otoniel' it became known yesterday that a former military man was going to file a judicial appeal against the leader of the Gulf clan for slander.

The former head of the Gulf Clan, had linked to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace the former Commander of the Military Forces, retired General Leonardo Barrero from allegedly having links with paramilitary groups located in the eastern plains, and also claimed that the General received bribes and worked for that criminal organization.

For his part, the retired soldier emphatically rejected the allegations of 'Otoniel' and reported that he will impose legal action against the criminal former head of the Gulf Clan.

“I must publicly state that I will go to the competent authorities to demand justice, in the face of the slander and insult to which I have been subjected, the product of an attempt by alias' Otoniel 'to deceive the judiciaries and the country, through vile lies in a crude disguise of truth,” said the retired general Barrier.
