Representatives of a sector of the fans of Deportivo Independiente Medellín and their counterparts from Deportivo Cali signed a non-aggression and coexistence pact, after a succession of conflicts and aggressions, inside and outside the stadiums of Colombia, in recent years.

This agreement of understanding came after the increase in hostile activities related to the theft of flags, provocations on social networks, clashes on roads and in the stadiums of Medellín and Palmira (Valle del Cauca), respectively.

The non-aggression pact was signed under three cross-cutting components: forgiveness, recognition of the other and respect. These lines will make it possible to advance in ways of building a generalized and collective peace, not only between these two fans, but between all those who support and accompany the Colombian professional football clubs.

Among the agreements agreed between the bars is the construction of dialogues and spaces for consultation so that both groups return the implements that were purchased in a hostile way. This refers to the theft of flags such as those of Deportivo Cali at the beginning of 2022 where armed men entered the site where these items of paraphernalia were stored. Or the ones from Independiente Medellín that were obtained by sugar fans when they broke the locks of the cellar where the 'rags' were kept.

This meeting also takes place in advance of the National Commission for Safety, Comfort and Coexistence in Football, which is chaired by the Ministry of the Interior and the Technical Secretariat of the Ministry of Sport, which will take place on April 12. This instance is made up of eight institutions, between public and private, to address issues related to the football spectacle.

The National Government recognized the dedication, dedication and commitment to the Ten-Year Football Plan, the Statute of Football Fans in Colombia and other actions aimed at coexistence and security inside and outside the stadiums, through this agreement, between two fans who work with the social responsibility of the sport as a social phenomenon that transforms realities.

A regrettable image went viral on social networks where the protagonists are the popular bar of Deportivo Cali, the stadium of the 'sugar' team and the leaders of the institution who authorized the entry of the barristas without a match in dispute. This is a photograph where you can see rags stolen from Independiente Medellín backwards and in the center one of Cali with the phrase “Firm and Dignos”.

This would have been taken on Tuesday, March 8, when the Deportivo Cali stadium was closed because there was no match for either the men's team or the women's team. These flags were stolen by members of the Radical Front, the bar of the Verdiblanco team, some years ago when they took advantage of the trip to Medellín for a match against Envigado to approach the winery of the Rexixtenxia Norte, the IMD bar, and after breaking the locks, looting the flags.

In the statement issued by the barra brava of Deportivo Cali they refer to the act of the beginning of 2022, where armed persons entered the home of one of the leaders of the breath group to take several suitcases with rags. According to them, it was an act carried out by a criminal gang carried out in the company of another bar in the city.

They say that in the country there is a “war of rags” and they imply that they will take revenge for the theft of their banners:

“We reiterate that in this war of rags we have always taken care of our affairs, for the moment we are going 2-1 and we remind them that in the long game there is always revenge.”

Through a press release, the vallecaucana institution stated that the use of the sports arena was never authorized to display the stolen rags. That the doors of this one opened with the excuse of drying the rags of the Radical Front after the match last Saturday, March 5, where the rain left them wet in the middle of the match against America in Cali.

In this they also assure that both the Cali Sports Association and the Co-ownership Estadio Deportivo Cali PH will take the corresponding measures in this regard. However, it is not known whether these measures are sanctions against the southern tribune of the stadium or simply checks for such acts to be repeated.
