Aston Martin says goodbye to a very special model: 15 years after the British manufacturer assembled its largest engine in its smallest sports car, the company has decided to launch a final series of the V12 Vantage.

The series will be limited to only 333 units and the first deliveries to customers are scheduled for the second quarter of the year. Its price has not even transcended, since all units are sold.

Instead of the usual four-litre V8 engine with a displacement of up to 393 kW/535 hp, the British are again installing in the “last of its class” a 5.2-litre twelve-cylinder engine, which reaches a power of up to 515 kW/700 hp. With a maximum torque of 753 Nm, the two-seater accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and develops a top speed of 322 km/h.

This “latest edition” not only marks the end of the twelve-cylinder engine era, which dates back to the days when Aston Martin belonged to the American Ford group. It is also preparing the farewell to the conventional sports car: the British have announced their first electric model for the middle of the decade.
