Army agents killed five alleged hit men of the Gulf Cartel, including the so-called leader of an operational arm nicknamed the Tilín, who traveled with his escorts who also perished in the Miguel Alemán fray.
According to local reports, the shooting took place in the midnight of this recent March 29, in actions that included a persecution by the municipality of the small border that borders the United States.
The armed civilians were traveling aboard a new-model white Toyota pickup on Miguel Alemán Boulevard. The convoy of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) sighted the criminal cell and reached it, but they opened fire and the attacks were repelled.
At least three military vehicles participated in the actions, resulting from their patrolling work. The unit in which the people who shot were traveling crashed in a billiard bar, in front of the roundabout where several avenues in the city center meet.
A taqueria on Valentín Barrera Boulevard was also hit by the impacts, due to the exchange of fire between the alleged members of the Gulf Cartel. Four men and one woman were killed there.
