After 14 days, the knockout process in Concacaf has ended. The national teams of Canada, Mexico and the United States have earned their direct pass to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, while Costa Rica qualified for the repechage (they will face New Zealand their ticket). Mexicans and Canadians ended up tied with the most points scored: 28 each team.

Thus, the region has confirmed its representatives for the highest football joust to be held between November 21 and December 18. After the matches, FIFA updated its ranking in which the Mexican National Team was placed in ninth place, the best in CONCACAF. It is followed by the United States in the fifteenth. Therefore, both squads will be included in pot two of the draw to decide the groups.

However, to have reached this point, the route of the Tri has been long. The team ended up as co-leader of the standings, but the process was full of signs for the performance of players, coaching staff, managers and even towards the fans. Consecutive defeats to Canadians and Americans on matchdays seven and eight created instability and doubt. Tata Martino was the main target of criticism.

Mexico won 28 points in 14 matches. That is, out of 42 possible he achieved an effectiveness of 66.6%. The final table threw Canada as the leader with the same number of points as the Tri, but with a better goal difference in favor. The United States came in third place, Costa Rica in fourth place, in fifth Panama, in sixth Jamaica, in seventh El Salvador and in eighth Honduras.

Those led by Martino managed to make Estadio Azteca an unbeatable venue by registering 0 losses during the tournament. The team recorded only two breakdowns, but they were during their visit to foreign territory.

In terms of scoring, Mexico was the third set with the highest amount by making 17 (equalized with Panama). His biggest scorer was Raul Jimenez with three scores. The overall odds were divided between 13 Aztec players: Henry Martin and Alexis Vega twice; Uriel Antuna, Edson Alvarez, Hector Herrera, Hector Moreno, Sebastián Córdova, Rogelio Funes Mori, Hirving Lozano, Jorge Sanchez, Jesús Manuel Corona and Orbelín Pineda, all with one goal.

Guillermo Ochoa was the goalkeeper chosen throughout the 14 engagements. In them, he was defeated 8 times, which meant finishing as the second least defeated goal (tied with Costa Rica and second only to Canada). The balance then came to 9 goals in favor.
