The Banco de la República raised interest rates to 5%

Until the end of January of this year, the country had a benchmark interest rate of 4%, this Thursday, the central bank increased it by 100 basis points

This Thursday, March 31, the end of the month meeting of the Banco de la República was held, in which the board of directors decided to once again increase interest rates. This new increase had been announced some time ago by market analysts.

According to information given by the Bank's manager, Leonardo Villar, it was decided that monetary policy would increase benchmark rates by 100 points. This was done in order to continue implementing the measures necessary to contain inflation.
