Susana Harp, a politician from Morena who sought the candidacy by the Oaxaca government, received the response from the Electoral Tribunal of the Federation Judiciary for her recent challenge to what considered irregularities in the candidate selection process.

Despite the fact that the electoral authorities confirmed his rival, Solomón Jara as the candidate of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), he assured that he also won a victory in all this.

On his social networks, Harp assured that collectively a victory was won after at least 3 months of struggle in which he opened “a groove for women who will compete in the future with clear rules and substantive parity for the governorships.”

This is because it was possible for the first time that orders were issued to political parties to generate, clarify and impose rules to apply the criterion of competitiveness in the nomination of candidates for that office; that is, that women are nominated for campaigns with a greater chance of winning.

However, Harp did not hide that he also has a part of bitter drink, because despite the achievements, the decision was finally in favor of his rival to win within the Morena's internal elections

“This fight has been for all of us. Today, a collective victory was achieved; although it is serious that we have to wait, but there is no day that does not come or a deadline that is not met,” he wrote through his official Twitter.

Likewise, the Electoral Tribunal “linked the National Electoral Institute (INE) to verify that national political parties issue substantive parity provisions based on the competitiveness criterion, as well as to monitor their compliance in the nomination of candidatures,” they reported in a statement.

The Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) confirmed the registration of Salomón Jara Cruz as Morena's sole pre-candidate to the government of Oaxaca for the 2021-2022 ordinary local electoral process.

This was decided by a majority vote, with the votes against Judge Mónica Aralí Soto Fregoso and Judge José Luis Vargas Valdez, as well as the partial individual vote against Judge Indalfer Infante Gonzales.

In addition, the National Commission for Honesty and Justice (CNHJ), as well as the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Oaxaca (TEEO), joined the decision to validate Salomón Jara Cruz as the sole pre-candidate.

Susana Harp, who ran in the call for the selection of the candidacy for the government of Oaxaca, was responsible for challenging her party's decision after the internal process in which she was not elected.

Harp Iturribarría then presented a trial for the protection of the political-electoral rights of citizens before this Superior Chamber of the TEPJF; however, the judges considered that the procedure provided for in the Convocation and regulations of the political party was correctly followed.

Solomon Jara has not taken a position on this decision. From his social networks, he only shared a photograph of his family watching the session. “With Shabin, Nabaany, Bxido and Vianhy watching the course of the TEPJF session. I salute your final decision,” wrote the politician.

For its part, the State Committee of Morena Oaxaca welcomed the decision of the Electoral Tribunal and affirmed that the candidacy complied with all the regulations issued by the electoral authorities, including the principle of parity that generated the controversy.
