Ronaldinho traveled to Paris and repudiated the whistles of the PSG public to Messi with a strong speech

It is the Brazilian's second endorsement in less than a month for Argentine crack: “If you whistle to the best in the world, who are you going to applaud?”

Ronaldinho knows Lionel Messi a lot and even assisted him on his first goal at Barcelona. They played together four seasons and always had a fraternal relationship. The Brazilian, every time he talks about the Argentine, praises him and this time was no exception. It happened when he was asked about the whistles that La Pulga received from the Paris Saint-Germain fans, after the elimination of his team in the Champions League by Real Madrid.

In the first home match after a bad drink against the Spaniards, the Parque de los Prínces Stadium became an open town hall in which its fans showed their displeasure, because the Parisian squad has a star-studded squad. Behind Messi are Neymar, Kylian Mbappé (the only one who was saved from reprobation), Sergio Ramos, Marco Verratti, Achraf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum and Ángel Di María, among others.

PSG's great ambition for this season was to win its first Champions League and that is why the disappointment of the French public, who knew how to applaud Ronaldinho, since he played there for two seasons, before moving to Barça. The 42-year-old former player stopped by the French capital for the launch of the FootSider app.

Messi came this season after many years in a completely different football, in a club that played the same way all the time. It just lacks adaptation, but the rest will come naturally. It's normal. It just needs time. I don't understand whistles. If you whistle at Messi, there's nothing left, eh! If you whistle to the best in the world, who are you going to applaud? I don't understand...”, reflected the former striker who emerged in Gremio de Porto Alegre.

This is the second time in less than a month that Ronaldinho has defended Messi. He already did so in mid-March during a visit he made to Mexico, in which he declared that “Messi will once again be number one in the world”, among other praise.

The gaucho got along with Leo when they played together on the culé team. At the time they joined a fearsome trident that Samuel Eto'o joined and they managed to win a Champions League in the 2005/2006 season with the Catalan team.

In tune with the support for Argentine crack, Dinho responded when asked about Neymar: “I think it's not a 'Messi problem' or a 'Neymar problem'. The fans were not happy about not being able to win the Champions League. The two biggest names in PSG are Neymar and Messi, so it's normal that he was a little stronger against the two. But I think fans are unhappy with all the players, not just the two of them. But it's football and, in a while, everything will be back to normal.”

Ronaldinho understands that his compatriot will soon regain his level: “I hope that next season I don't have any injuries and the rest will be normal. Every year he wins something, either in the national team or at PSG. Well, not the Champions League yet. But I hope that with Messi's successful adaptation, the three of them (with Mbappé) can write a nice story.”

“I think you already have a very strong history in football, don't you? He is a player who has done a lot of things. He is our main idol in Brazil. I hope I win the World Cup, a Ballon d'Or. I hope he wins everything to go one step further,” added the Barça legend, who wishes Neymar to succeed with his country as well,” he concluded.
