J Balvin's reflection after his criticized presentation at the Estéreo Picnic: “He who doesn't add up, he slips”

The urban artist closed one of the days of the music event breaking record attendance, but his fans ended up disappointed with his presentation and expressed their discontent on social networks

José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, better known as J Balvin, performed last weekend at one of the most popular and anticipated musical events in the country, the Stereo Picnic Festival and, although his show broke record attendance, he has received criticism on social media. Faced with the bad comments that many attendees at Balvin's presentation made, the artist made some Instagram stories that were interpreted as his answer.

After attending the Estéreo Picnic and watching the presentation of the paisa, several of his fans highlighted on social networks that J Balvin did not live up to their expectations and that, in fact, this was one of his worst performances. However, on his social networks he has shared photos and videos of the show, highlighting that more than 40,000 people attended, which exceeded a record at the musical event.

Through his' InstaStories' J Balvin spoke to his nearly 52 million followers and sent a message of reflection to start the day. But among his words, some of the users of the social network identified what would be a hint for those who have criticized his presentation, since they were not only fans or attendees at the event, but also important connoisseurs of the field of event organization.

“Good morning from Medellin Colombia... a hug and good vibes for everyone. Don't let yourselves down, always up. Nothing, all brutal”, the artist paisa began his greeting. And he added that we must keep the “vibe high and whoever does not add up, slips. You arrive, you get oily, nothing happens”, which was what has been shared on gossip accounts as the artist's response to criticism.

In the comments on these publications, users of the networks insisted on their criticism. “But he gets litres and litres of oil”; “what a childish response, he has no argument to defend himself and calls himself an urban singer” were some of the reactions on the platform.

It should be noted that Balvin made a special publication remembering his journey to become one of the most recognized national artists in the world and thanking the 40,000 people who were at his show demonstrating the support he has. “I keep the memory forever in my heart, I thank you for every smile and every song we enjoy together. We know that we started singing in the neighborhoods of Bogotá and, after so much struggle, it is the first time in the history of the Estéreo Picnic that a Colombian has closed and not only that, it broke record of festival attendees, yesterday, there were more than 40,000 people”.

He pointed out that “because of that, a lot of respect and admiration for all the artists who were part of yesterday's day, in addition, that number of people stayed to enjoy it with me. This is a big step for dreamers and for reggaeton. What a great blessing to make history in my country, thank you for giving me your energy, I was VERY happy last night! Peace on earth.”

Despite that, the urban artist had a good record of his last performances in Colombia. For example, in the Super Mega Concert of the Cali Fair, he was the central singer, completely filling the Pascual Guerrero stadium; but despite singing in the capital of his native country, he did not present a show at the height of his world tours and so many attendees of the FEP made it known on social networks.

Precisely, one of those voices that reproached Balvin's performance at the event was businessman and broadcaster Julio Correal, who was dispatched in criticism of the reggaetonero, even stating on Tuesday that it was “The poorest show I have ever seen”.

“Mr. José Balvin, respect the public. Respect the Festival, but above all be respected with a show,” said the manager who, in 1992, brought the Guns N' Roses to Colombia for the first time, generating turmoil and chaos since Axl Rose and the other members of the band landed at the ElDorado airport.
