Easter holidays are getting closer and it is not uncommon for us to want to use these days to have a good time traveling and getting to know other destinations that we have on our list.

Despite the huge increase in the price of gasoline in recent weeks, the cost of airline tickets seems to be continuing. So you might want to reconsider your plan to make a roadtrip with your friends to a place a little far from where you are, since it could cost you less a flight to drive.

There is an idea that there are specific times when travel deals are obtained, however this has changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, as flights began to be directly affected by the health measures of each country that are not yet standardized around the world.

While there is nothing that totally guarantees you that by entering a travel search engine at a certain time or day of the week you will get the best deal, there are some tricks that you can use and see if they work for you, in total you don't lose anything by programming your alarm to search for flights at the best time.

THE BEST TIME TO BUY TICKETS

Airlines usually lower the cost of tickets after sundown, so flights purchased at night or near dawn tend to be cheaper. However, this is not a foolproof formula and it can fail but nothing is lost by comparing and entering the search engines at night and seeing if we get a better deal than if we enter in the morning.

THE BEST DAYS

It is said that the days on which the most offers are obtained are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. However, as in the case of hours, this system may have flaws. What you do know is that the day of the week on which you choose to travel can affect the price. For example, traveling on a Monday usually costs less than traveling on Sunday or Friday. You can try going into your favorite travel search engine such as Google Flights or Kayak at night or in the early morning of any of these days and compare.

THE TRICK OF THE UNKNOWN WINDOW

This is a well-known and effective trick if you don't want your search engine to detect that you're interested in buying a flight. What you should do is search for it using the incognito mode of your browser, this will not leave traces with cookies and the pages will not raise your prices from one day to the next. It's also important that you clear your search cache.

CHEAPER MONTHS

Just as there are better times and days to find deals, there are also months when the season in certain places is higher than in others. For example, if you want to travel to Europe or the Northern Hemisphere, the cheapest months are usually January, February and November. While these are usually months of high season in South America, so traveling within the continent will be more expensive for you.

A month that seems to be a time of low prices for most destinations in September, since in the northern countries prices are lower than in the previous summer months, while in the south there is still a tendency to maintain low prices for the winter months of June, July and August.

In general, December is usually a little more expensive month to travel due to the Christmas and New Year holidays. However, it is known that flights departing on the same 25th or 31st are usually much cheaper than the rest of the month.
