Insecurity continues to be daily news in the country. This time a gang of 4 thieves that operate on two motorcycles, has whipped the community of the Santa Rita neighborhood in the town of Puente Aranda.

According to the report of local residents, for a few days there have been attacks and robberies by criminals who often take advantage of the loneliness of the early hours of the morning or late at night to rob people who get up early or arrive at home at night.

In addition, the community assures that the criminals know when the shift changes are made in the police and those minutes turn out to be an ordeal for the neighborhood since they are completely unprotected as another neighborhood leader commented:

In the last few hours they released a video that recorded a new act committed by criminals who are transported on two motorcycles. In the graphic material you can see how a man and another person, apparently a woman, walk, when a motorcycle immediately passes by, he stops in a corner and returns to the two people.

In parallel, another motorcycle intercepts them in the back and two subjects proceed to get off the bikes and dock them. However, one of the people tries to run away, but was hit by one of the criminals who set out to assault her and strip her of her belongings before the eyes of her companion who was living with tension at the time.

Some neighbors looked out, but fearing that something might happen to them they don't usually provide help during the robbery. Finally, after the struggle and assault the two neighbors of the Santa Rita neighborhood, the thieves start to flee.

The community protested on Wednesday night in the sector and said they have organized themselves to carry out “safe corridors” through the streets leading to the Transmilenio station.

These consist, according to Carrascal, that there are about 40 or 50 neighbors next to and next to the streets, watching people who get up early and arrive late at night from their work and studies to be able to accompany them and to arrive safely at home.

Residents of the sector say that they feel little accompanied by the security forces, so they have had to take measures against self-care with neighbors and especially women, who have been even more affected by thieves when they were attacked.
