Claudia López announced new security measures that will come into effect from April 11

In total, there are 5 measures just announced by the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, which will enter into force from Monday, April 11:

The announcement was made after the last Security Council held in the town of Teusaquillo, in the company of Aníbal Fernández de Soto, Secretary of Security and Police of Bogotá. This, following Claudia López's meeting with President Iván Duque, who thanked her for receiving her suggestions on safety, motivated by what happened in the Arborizadora Alta neighborhood, where they detonated an explosive device in an Immediate Care Center, CAI, which claimed the lives of 2 children and left several injured people.

He also assured that weekly he will preside over the Integrated Councils for Electoral Security, where he will coordinate intelligence support and joint checkpoints between the Police and the Army. He added that the president assigned an additional thousand police officers to increase citizen security and prevent terrorist acts.

He recalled that the national government is offering a reward of up to 5 billion pesos for the leader of the FARC dissident front, alias “John Mechas”. At the same time, I present the cartel of the most wanted by the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, involved in robberies. For those identified, rewards of up to 20 million pesos are offered for the information that allows them to capture any of the 10 displayed on the poster.

He claims that 8 “very dangerous” criminal organizations are being targeted, which are linked to the “outsourcing” that detonated the explosive device in the CAI.
