Christian Martinoli and Luis García will arrive at the cinema with “Minions 2: A villain is born”

Mexican dubbing is considered one of the best in the world and is the leader in Latin America, so there is always a diversity of styles. And, on this occasion, it will be no exception, as two of the most recognized voices in Aztec lands will be added and soon to be heard at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Luis García and Christian Martinoli, will make the leap to cinema to join the voice cast of the film Minions 2: A Villain is Born.

It was through their official networks that the former footballer and the sports journalist, part of the Azteca Deportes broadcasting team, announced that they would join this project that the yellow henchmen of the famous animated villain, Gru.

Christian Martinoli only shared the photograph in his story where he made his participation official; while his narration colleague, Luis García, uploaded this official poster in a post that so far has just over 5,000 reactions.

It was only on March 30 that Universal Pictures together with Andes Films released the new and most recent trailer for Minions 2: A Villain is Born, sequel to the spin-off film and prequel to the films Mi Villaño Favorite. They also shared the agreed date for it to hit theaters on June 30, 2022.

This time, Illumination will show us a 12-year-old Gru, who will try to apply to an infamous group of supervillains, the Vicio6. According to the details, Andrés Bustamante will once again lend his iconic voice to Gru, Edgar Vivar will give life to Silas Pietraserón again and Panamanian reggaeton singer Sech will lend his voice for the character Biker.

In the cast for the Vicio6, the talents of Itatí Cantoral will be added as the cool and confident leader Dona Disco, whose chain belt becomes a lethal weapon; Luis García as the roller skating champion Svenganza, who gets rid of his enemies by kicking his skates with beaks; and Christian Martinoli as Hands of Steel, whose giant hands are a danger to others and a burden to him.

Within the synopsis of the film directed by Kyle Balda and produced by Universal Studios you can see the renowned villain, Gru getting into trouble in the search for his profession as a villain, so he will need Stuart, Kevin, BOBK and Otto - a new Minion -, to free him from some antagonists even more mature than him.

“Long before he became the master of evil, Gru is just a 12-year-old boy from the suburbs in the 1970s, plotting to rule the world from his basement. It's not going particularly well. When Gru crosses his path with the Minions, including Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Otto, this unexpected family joins forces. Together, they build their first lair, their first weapons and strive to execute their first missions”, can be read in the first part of the summary of the tape.

“The Vicio6, expels its leader - the legendary martial arts fighter Willy The Kid- Gru, his most devoted fan, is interviewed to become its new member. With Gru on the run, the Minions try to master the art of kung-fu to save him, and Gru discovers that even the villains need a little help from their friends.”

This will be the second time that both iconic Mexican football characters join their voices outside of sports narratives to participate in a dubbing. It was only in 2019 that they had the opportunity to participate with Paramount Pictures in a co-starring role in the animated film Parque Mágico, where they voiced Cooper and Gus, a pair of beavers.
