24 hours after the aeronautical crisis that occurred at the Rionegro airport in Antioquia, there was a
event of similar characteristics in El Dorado when a FedEx Boeing 767 from San Juan (Puerto Rico) was declared an emergency.
The crew issued an alert for a failure in the aircraft's left train prior to its approach to El Dorado. The control tower ordered a flight over the area of the air terminal and after checking the security conditions for a safe descent, it was allowed to land in the southern area of the airport.
This emergency maneuver caused injuries during the night operation of the terminal, which added to the adverse weather conditions resulting from the rainy season facing the capital of the republic.
The aeronautical authority warned that “The conditions described above may cause significant delays in air operations to and from that terminal,” and recommended that users maintain contact with airlines in the event of changes in the itineraries for the overnight operation in El Dorado.
This is a news in development.
