A teenager was set on fire in Barranquilla for trying to defend a friend from the abuse of her partner

In the past few days, the case of a 16-year-old girl who had allegedly been affected with burns on various parts of her body by the explosion of a gas cylinder, became known.

However, the authorities in the thorough investigation of the events found that these did not happen as they were made known to the public, since it would instead be an alleged attempt to murder the minor in Barranquilla.

The police established that everything would have happened because of a couple's quarrel in which the young woman wanted to accompany one of her friends. Later, it is said that the friend's husband had sprayed gasoline in the room where they were and then proceeded to set fire to it, according to the mother of the victim.

He also made it clear that it was not an accident, but a possible case in which they wanted to kill their daughter. “That was not accidental, nor were they playing. They threw that at him, because of all those who were in the house they only burned my daughter, they wanted to kill her. This is not going to be the case, because my daughter is going to be marked for life,” she said while waiting for her daughter to recover.

The authorities said that it would have been an altercation and not because of the explosion of a gas cylinder as was thought from the beginning.

The condition of the affected girl is critical and until Wednesday night she remained in intensive care and under a reserved prognosis at the Adelita Clinic in Char, having 45% of her body burned.

A person close to the teenager told how the incident had happened, also indicating that in the face of the medical procedures that the 16-year-old girl had tried to perform, she had three pre-infarctions.

What happened is already under the lens of the authorities of childhood and adolescence, who will soon seek to clarify what happened. However, it appears that the couple involved had moved their place of residence, after which, as indicated by the victim's mother, the case would be referred to Dijín with the intention of issuing a circular by Interpol as foreign nationals.

So far, the whereabouts of the couple are unknown, and at the same time the burned minor takes the attention of this situation that occurred in the La Pradera neighborhood in the capital of the Atlantic a few days ago.
