This was the reconciliation of Ana del Castillo and Iván Villazón

After more than two years, the Vallenato artists held an emotional reunion at the close of the Barranquilla Carnival

In November 2019, Ana del Castillo and Iván Villazón had broken up relations after a performance at a nightclub in Barranquilla. At that time, the singer vallenata dispatched against the Colombian artist after he did not let her go up and sing with him arguing that she was “prevented” from doing so.

Villazón explained that her statements came because Del Castillo had been operated on recently, so it was “to take care of her.” However, this attitude unleashed the fury of the vocalist, who had to be restrained by her companions. Subsequently, the singer went out against her compatriot in a broadcast through her Instagram account.

“For not giving me the opportunity to sing with you, when you invited me to a feat and I went to see you sing with this girdle that I have on here, and you told me that I was a woman unable to sing, you go and eat three thousand times a catapilla de ve**a”, said Del Castillo with a few drinks on top.

Although the vallenata artist apologized in a letter, Villazón requested that she do so through a video, “just as she did when she threw her expletives against me.” The issue was not settled and, in the last few hours, the reconciliation that his followers were waiting for so long occurred.

This Tuesday, March 29, as part of the closing of the Barranquilla Carnival, Iván Villazón asked to meet Ana del Castillo in her dressing room to make peace. The video, which circulated through social networks, shows the moment when both vallenato singers meet again to give way to a kiss on the cheek and a hug.

Del Castillo, visibly excited, expressed her regret for what happened: “It's been almost three years and I have a pity with you. Now I'll give you some poultices of love. Sorry, I'm an impulsive woman, maybe immature.”

Later, Villazón says that this episode was in the past and, on the contrary, he was proud of the work she is currently doing: “Ana, don't talk about it, I wanted to see you and I love what you're doing. That doesn't matter, it's not in my heart. What is in my heart is you. I love you, that's why I sent for you.”

The words of affection also spread to digital platforms. On his Instagram account, Villazón posted the recording of reconciliation accompanied by a message: “In my heart there is only affection for you, with the conviction that you will go very far by adorning our vallenato folklore with your song”.

“Thank you very much teacher. A pleasure to see him again after so long, to be able to hug him and tell him how much I admire him. I love him very much. Thank you very much for the opportunity and for your beautiful words. Thank you for believing in me. I have in my heart only love and respect for you,” Del Castillo replied to the publication.

That weekend in November 2019, Villazón was performing in Barranquilla. In one section of the event, he started singing 'Pero quáva', the single he recorded with Del Castillo. The latter, which had been invited by his then plastic surgeon, Norman Blanco, was received by the public with a song: “Ana, Ana! ”, as if inviting him to join the singer vallenato.

Del Castillo just completed a few days of undergoing breast reduction and lipomarking. That was precisely the argument under which Villazón prevented her from climbing on the stage: “Ana is prevented”, it was heard in the noise of the spectators.

The moment was captured on video, showing that the comment was not liked by the Colombian artist. “I think that was a misinterpretation of Ana. It was because of the surgery, for taking care of her. (...) I did notice his annoyance, but I continued on the stage, singing to my audience who attended the meeting massively,” said 'The voice tenor del vallenato' at the time.

Through social networks, Del Castillo remarked: “If you felt cowed with my talent, with my voice, a woman who has a voice is me, a woman who has how to sing without a microphone, it's me, she heard.”

The event divided several followers of the vallenato, because, while some considered that Villazón acted in an egocentric manner, others said that Del Castillo had to accept the decision.
