'Mi Casa Ya' grants continue to be effective in 2022
Earlier this year, the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, together with the Minister of Housing, Jonathan Malagón, and the president of the Colombian Chamber of Construction (Camacol), Sandra Forero, announced that the 'Mi Casa Ya' program will be maintained during 2022 so that more Colombians can access housing subsidies.
This is a subsidy that was born in the midst of the health and economic emergency that caused the arrival of covid-19 in Colombia, as a support for families to acquire their own housing.
The 'Mi Casa Ya' program seeks to facilitate the purchase of new urban housing in Colombia, since it provides a down payment subsidy and interest rate coverage and is aimed at families with incomes of up to four minimum wages, that is, if they receive up to four million pesos per month.
It should be remembered that, this program offers a $20 million subsidy for a family with income between $2 million and $4 million pesos per month, the other subsidy available is for $30 million and is aimed at families with incomes of up to $2 million per month.
