Marbelle, singer of popular music, is singled out for racism and harassment on the grounds of race, religion and political ideology. This is due to a post he made on his social networks in which he compared Francia Márquez to King Kong.
The so-called 'Queen of the Technocarrilera', shared in recent days an image of Colombia's presidential candidate, Gustavo Petro and his vice-presidential formula, Francia Márquez, with the message: “Cacas and King Kong”.
The publication of the singer of 'Pearl Necklace' generated rejection and outrage on social networks, where she was strongly questioned for the racist message against Francia Márquez, a social leader, human rights defender and lawyer who aspires to become vice-president in the upcoming elections to be held on May 29 of this year year.
But criticism of the untimely and offensive message went further and reached the courts. So far, there are at least two lawsuits against Marbelle in the offices of the Attorney General's Office.
The crime for which he could be deprived of his liberty is discrimination on racial grounds. It should be recalled that Law 1482 of 2011 amended the Penal Code and recognized in articles 134B and 134C the offence mentioned above.
Roy Barreras's lawsuit
After the birth of the controversy over the trill of Marbelle against Francia Márquez, the Cali politician published a post through his Twitter account to announce the lawsuit he filed against Maureen Belky Ramírez Cardona, the singer's first name.
The complaint by Roy Barreras, which was filed in the office of Attorney General Francisco Barbosa, reads the senator's analysis of Marbelle's tweet, which was deleted hours after it was published by the wave of expletives that the singer received as a result.
This is how Mrs. Ramírez used this character to refer in a disparaging, rude and insulting way to the vice-presidential candidate Francia Márquez Mina.
In addition, she pointed to other tweets in which Marbelle associated the vice-presidential candidate with the extinct FARC-EP, a guerrilla organization that has already been dissolved and to which Márquez was never linked, nor is it related to the GaOr of dissidents.
Denunciation of the collective Radical
The Radical Justice collective did not stand idly by and also went to the Prosecutor's Office to accuse Marbelle of harassment.
According to the lawyer, Ali Bantú Ashanti, a claimant for Radical Justice, Marbelle's comment “projects a racist imaginary, thereby hurting the dignity and feelings of people of African descent,” as quoted by the local newspaper El Colombiano.
“These stereotypes are old, typical of that of the history of slavery and everyday racism. Today they are sown in the national collective consciousness and reinforced with this type of behavior that people of African descent are inferior, similar to apes, monkeys or gorillas,” added the complainant.
