Sandra Cuevas denied alleged kidnapping attempt in 2018: “Black campaigns are unscrupulous”

The mayor of Cuauhtémoc was involved in another scandal after the dissemination of a video in which she allegedly participated in an assault

After ending in harshly terms the complaint by two police officers against him, the mayor of the Perredist Sandra Cuevas Nieves, is once again in the public eye.

This is after a video was presented on social media in which the mayor of Cuauhtémoc ballegedly assaulted a woman in 2018.

According to information submitted by journalist Antonio Nieto, who accessed a folder to investigate the incident, Sandra Cuevas and her partner have participated in an assault against the female complainant, of which there are videos and captures obtained by the woman complainant.

For this reason, the official account of the Mayor's Office of Cuauhtémoc called the accusations about the alleged crime of attempted kidnapping by Cuevas Nieves as false.

“Sandra Cuevas, Mayor of Cuauhtémoc, denied that there is an investigation folder against her for the alleged crime of attempted kidnapping and regretted that she intends to distort her image with videos of the past,” can be read in the short statement published shortly before midnight on Tuesday.

Likewise, she emphasizes that the research folder indicated by various mass media, with the number 2235/2018, does not involve her person about an event “aroused in 2018 and has nothing to do with her current activity as Mayor”.

Finally, she assured that “aggressions can be observed beyond the public service that I represent, since they are directed with the aim of affecting me, as a woman, which can turn into gender aggressions, so the issue can lead to political violence based on gender in accordance with what is established in the General Law on Women's Access to a Life Free of Violence,” said Mayor Cuevas Nieves.

Similarly, the perredist posted a video on her official Twitter account during midnight, a video in which she branded the video in which she allegedly committed the aggression as part of the “black campaigns against me”.

In the nearly two-minute audiovisual, he invited the alleged parents of the children he allegedly tried to kidnap in 2018 along with his partner Christian Rafael Quiroz Oropeza, who is the father of the infantes: “Fortunately, the parents of the minors visited the mayor's office to clarify these uncomfortable facts,” which identified as Rocío and Israel.

Before giving them the floor, he assured that the facts are shown in a way that they make her look bad and flatly denied that it was an attempt to kidnap.

“I want to tell you that these events didn't happen the way you want to make it look. I have never tried to abduct absolutely anyone, much less a child, and it is very important that they do not use minors, that they do not use this type of video to distort and harm. Not only an adult but also a child.”

He then gave voice to the couple who clarified that it was a family problem and that there was never a topic of attempted kidnapping, which is why there is no investigation folder against Sandra Cuevas.
