Mexican National Team, to confirm their place in Qatar 2022 against El Salvador; will be in pot 2 of the draw

Concacaf hands out its last two direct tickets to the World Cup: they will almost certainly be for Mexico and the United States, the playoff for Costa Rica

The Mexican National Team will face El Salvador in a commitment that will represent the end of the Concacaf World Cup qualifier for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The team directed by Gerardo Martino has the outlook in their favor to get their ticket to the World Cup Joust. A draw or victory against the Central American team will give you the qualification (even a defeat under certain conditions).

Once the day is over, the United States and Mexico will be confirmed in pot two of the draw, to be held on Friday, April 1, where they will learn how the groups are formed for the next World Cup. Costa Rica has a minimal chance of occupying a direct position, but even if it wins against the Stars and Bars, it is not guaranteed.

With the date to be played, the only qualifier is the national team of Canada, who ranks first in the table with 28 points. Mexicans and Americans are second and first, respectively. Both with 25 units. The Ticos are fourth with 22 and at the moment they are in the repechage where the rival was already defined: New Zealand. The teams that no longer play anything after being eliminated are Panama, El Salvador, Jamaica and Honduras.

The matches of the last date are Mexico vs El Salvador, United States vs Costa Rica, Panama vs Canada and Jamaica vs Honduras. All for playing at the same time.

The Salvadoran squad reaches the game with no greater goal than to defend sports pride. La Selecta stayed on the sixth rung of the table and if they lost to Mexico, they could even go down one more. The game will be on the court of the Colossus of Santa Úrsula, in the Mexican capital, and Tri is expected to be the favorite to win (she has not lost at home in the entire elimination process).

“We fought all the games, they have been fought. Proud of the boys, but it's not over, we have one more. Difficult, Mexico is excellent at home. The boys have stood up well in the games. We are more complete this day than we had in El Salvador with six, seven players away. We hope to give more than last time,” said Gerson Pérez, technical assistant for the Central American team.
