The Deputy Minister of Justice, Juan Carrasco Millones, said that he did not know the businesswoman and aspiring effective collaborator Karelim López, following its presentation to the Supervision Commission of the Congress of the Republic.

He gave these statements outside the Parliament, where he ruled out having an amical relationship with the lobbyist, much less having seen her personally, as he was previously accused.

“Regarding investigations (on visits to Sarratea), I have no ties, I don't know Mrs. Karelim Lopez, I've never had her on my phone, we've never talked. I realized that we met in Sarratea only when the report came out, when I was able to see it,” said the former Minister of the Interior and Defence.

As for his visit to the house of the Sarratea jiron, located in the Lima district of Breña, Carrasco indicated that he went there to have personal conversations with the president of the republic, Pedro Castillo, but these never came to pass.

“I don't know where it was (Karelim López), the house has four floors, I don't know it. (...) I think everything is within the context of truth, I had only 48 hours of appointment as Minister of Defense, I had personal conversations with the president,” he added.

His statements to the press coincided with the testimony he gave to the members of the Congressional Oversight Commission, to whom he asserted that he did not meet with the head of state, although he waited for him for an hour.

“I think it's repetitive, because of personal issues I went to talk to the president, because of the death of my mother. I haven't seen the president since he was sworn in as Minister of Defense, so I went to visit him. When I say that I went to try my luck, I say it because I went to see if it was possible to find the president in the place, I already explained that the president and that I did not meet with him,” he said.

“There was no meeting with the president, the fact that I attended on November 19, was to coordinate personal matters with the president, but he was not in the house, then I waited for him for an hour. On the spot I didn't meet anyone, on the site I didn't see Karelim Lopez. I never met her, nor have I established a relationship with her, she was waiting for him in a room for only an hour,” he added.

SEXUAL AUDIO LEAKED DURING CARRASCO'S INTERVENTION

In the midst of his statements to this parliamentary working group, Juan Carrasco Millones had an awkward moment after a sexual audio was leaked, which was heard nationally through the congressional channel signal. This shameful moment caused everyone to remain silent and then resumed actions without mentioning the fact.

Carrasco Millones appeared at the aforementioned audit to answer for the Sarratea case, which is being investigated against President Pedro Castillo and Bruno Pacheco. The deputy minister was consulted about his clandestine visits to the Sarratea home to meet with President Castillo, in the middle of the session, which was also taking place virtually, one of the parliamentarians who had left his microphone open, apparently opened one of these viral joke videos and the sexual audio was heard leaving all surprised and in the middle of an awkward silence.

Subsequently, the President of the Commission decided to terminate Juan Carrasco's participation and invited him to withdraw. After this episode, no congressman spoke about it and after several minutes they continued their work.
