José Manuel Figueroa would have had to undergo emergency surgery on the afternoon of this March 29. As explained by Marie Claire Harp, the singer's girlfriend, he had to be treated because of an injury to his arm he ran the risk of losing the mobility of his limb.
Through her Instagram account, Marie Claire shared a photograph holding someone's hand from the hospital and, although the singer's face was not visible, it caused excitement. A few hours later he revealed that the singer had to be operated on his right arm on Tuesday afternoon. This is because an old injury caused him a lot of pain and, if left unattended, could have serious consequences.
“José Manuel entered the operating room, they are going to operate on him. It's going to be a two-hour, two-and-a-half hour operation. I hope it will be two hours because the doctor said: 'If everything goes well, in two hours you have it in the room, '” the presenter began to explain from a hospital room.
He explained that Joan Sebastian's son suffered from very severe pain in his limb, so he was taken to the hospital to be treated as soon as possible since there was a possibility that he would lose his arm mobility.
He also explained that in surgery they would have to replace a tendon. However, there is a possibility that Figueroa's body will not accept the new muscle and that would severely affect his arm, which, consequently, would affect his artistic career since he, like his father, has been characterized by appearing on top of his horses.
“One of the tendons is going to be replaced, that tendon that left, it will be replaced by graft. So here the trade-off is that the body absorbs that graft, that the body responds well and all this. Why lose the mobility of an arm for a singer, who also does an equestrian show (...) Then you need endurance and skills in your big arms,” Harp said.
Despite the sensitivity of the situation, Marie Claire said that her boyfriend was excited and calm before entering the operating room as she knew that her pain would finally end, although it remains to wait for the results of the surgery.
Two hours after she shared the news, the presenter announced that the surgery was over. He wrote in a temporary story: “A success”, implying that José Manuel would have come out of the operating room.
For his part, the interpreter of Quiero y Necesito has not shared anything on social networks so far.
On the morning of March 29, journalist Gil Barrera announced through his Twitter account that José Manuel decided to be admitted to a hospital since the pain in his arm would be affecting the mobility of his limb.
It should be remembered that in January 2020 Joan Sebastian's son suffered a dramatic fall from one of his horses during a presentation. At the time, he commented that he felt at risk due to the situation in which the accident occurred.
