Huánuco: bus fell into the abyss during huaico and passengers were saved by miracle

The driver and co-driver were still inside the vehicle. The event did not end as a tragedy, since the fall was slow because of the wet earth.

In Huánuco, a bus fell into the abyss when trying to cross a dirt track. However, due to a huaico, it ended up slipping and falling to a cliff 200 meters high. The passengers were saved because they had left earlier, but the driver and co-pilot were injured.

The images show the moment when the car tries to pass through a narrow track, where you can see a large mound of dirt. It can be sensed that everything has been affected by the huaico, and the wet earth was simply detrimental to the passage of the vehicle.

Among the cries of the passengers, who panic, it can be seen that one of the people still on board the car hit the roof of the bus. Then it is turned upside down and the passengers don't know what to do to help them.

The vehicle belonged to the Cifuentes transport company, and the driver and co-driver ended up injured. Fortunately, the fall was not fatal, as the car fell slowly.

GOVERNOR OF HUÁNUCO WILL BE IMPRISONED FOR 18 MONTHS

Juan Alvarado, governor of Huánuco, will go to prison for 18 months, while investigations against him into the alleged irregular purchase of 7995 laptops continue. The Office of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor accuses the regional chief of the crime of aggravated collusion to economic damage of S/ 23 million per State, according to a report from the Comptroller's Office.

Elmer Contreras, judge of the Third Office of the Preparatory Investigation Court of Huánuco, said that Alvarado meets the requirements to go to prison, since there is a danger of escape, and his freedom represents an obstacle to the investigation.

Given the complexity of the case, the judge stated that “he needs the maximum period (for investigations) provided by law, for the facts to be clarified. Whereby, pursuant to Article 268 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, this office will decide to declare the 18-month preventive detention order against Juan Alvarado Cornelio (Governor of Huánuco), Luz Rodríguez Ramos (former Social Development Manager), Darwin Campos Soto (former Systems Assistant) and Luis Bedregal Gonzales for the alleged commission of the crime against the public administration in the form of aggravated collusion in aggravation of the Peruvian State, Huánuco Regional Government”.

It is worth mentioning that Juan Alvarado and his co-defendants could be sentenced to 12 years in prison for the crime of aggravated collusion.
