To promote scientific and technological development among postgraduate students in the State of Mexico, the authorities, through the Mexiquense Council of Science and Technology (Comecyt), launched a call for financial aid in this quest to continue their studies.
This is the Edoméx First Year 2022 Postgraduate Scholarship that is aimed at all students of this academic level who study in the following strategic areas:
- Agro-industrial sciences.
- Exact Sciences.
- Engineering and Technologies.
- Administrative Social and Economic Sciences.
All public institutions of higher education in the State of Mexico will be able to apply to professionals who have been accepted or are pursuing postgraduate studies in their master's degree programs.
According to the call, this program aims to “encourage the formation of specialized human capital, contributing to its socio-economic improvement through the provision of support monetary resources for their training and professional development”.
The scholarship consists of a support of 7 thousand pesos per month that will be awarded for one year (12 final payments). They also recalled that this support cannot be retroactive to fiscal years prior to 2022.
Interested parties must meet the following general requirements:
1. Be a resident of the State of Mexico.
2. Not be a beneficiary of any other federal, state or municipal social development program.
3. Have been accepted to pursue or be pursuing postgraduate studies in the master's degree modality in school programs.
4. Have successfully passed all subjects of the academic period or degree immediately prior to the one applying for the scholarship.
5. Have obtained or accredited the undergraduate degree of bachelor's degree studies.
6. Provide the required information to the Linking Area, Academic Coordination of the postgraduate program and/or the area empowered for the application of applicants from the institution to which they are enrolled.
Once these points have been met, applicants must complete the application with the requested documentation from the publication of the call, on March 24, until the closing of the call, which will be on April 21.
In addition, in this step, students will have to share these files in PDF format and with a size that does not exceed 2 Megabytes:
* Valid official identification on both sides.
* Unique Population Registration Key (CURP).
* Proof of address from the State of Mexico (water, electricity or property only) valid for no more than three months.
* Professional degree or certificate of undergraduate studies on both sides.
* Official document proving the applicant's status as a regular student, and containing the general average.
* Proof of enrollment for the school term that the applicant is taking.
* Curriculum, official postgraduate academic program or curriculum map.
* Letter of application issued by the higher education institution of the State of Mexico (format A).
* Letter of activities and protest (format B).
* Letter of explanation of reasons (format C).
* Application record (format D).
The state agency stressed that all formats are available on the page https://comecyt.edomex.gob.mx/scholarship-postgrado-edomex-sciences. He also mentioned that the educational institution of origin must take care of sending the list of applicants who meet the requirements.
