The Inter-American Court of Human Rights ruled on the decision of the Constitutional Court of Peru that published the resolution reinstating the pardon in favor of former President Alberto Fujimori Fujimori. This decision is following the procedures for notifying the relevant authorities and it is estimated that his release will be issued within the next few hours.

Thus, the international organization ordered Peru temporarily to refrain from executing the decision to release Fujimori until it resolves the request for interim measures in the coming days.

The plenary session of the Inter-American Court decided on Wednesday to adopt a decision requiring the Peruvian State “to guarantee the right of access to justice for the victims of the Barrios Altos and La Cantuta cases” to refrain from executing the decision of the Constitutional Court ordering Alberto Fujimori Fujimori's release. As she indicated, the full decision will be notified in the coming days.
