Triple homicide in Buga could be linked to microtrafficking dispute

Last weekend three men were killed inside a house in rural Buga, Valle del Cauca

Last weekend there was an incident of violence that generated fear among the inhabitants of the Chambimbal district, rural area of Buga, in Valle del Cauca. Three men were killed with firearms inside a house in that sector.

The victims, according to the first versions of the events, would be three men aged 20, 25 and 38.

The commander of the Valle del Cauca Police, Colonel Nelson Parrado, said that this action could be related to an operation carried out by the authorities in Valle del Cauca against a structure dedicated to microtrafficking.

According to Colonel Parrado's statements, the three murders were apparently related to the reorganization of criminal groups engaged in drug trafficking and other crimes in that area of the country.

He also added that this anti-crime operation would have allowed room for retaliations and confrontations to establish who would take control of the area.

“This situation could have generated by retaliations, by the control and rearrangement of these structures dedicated to drug trafficking and consumption in the municipality of Buga, in urban and rural areas,” added the commander of the Valle del Cauca Police.

According to the authorities, men carrying short- and long-range weapons arrived in that area of Valle del Cauca and opened fire on some inhabitants of the village.

In this action, four people died, three men and one woman. The National Police rejected these facts and sent a message of condolences to the mayor and the inhabitants of the municipality.

“We categorically reject this collective homicide. During the night several armed men, carrying long-range and short-range weapons, attack several residents of the La María district, where the criminal result is four homicides, three men and one woman,” said the National Police.

According to investigations carried out by the Attorney General's Office, those responsible for this event would be members of criminal groups such as 'Los Flacos' and 'Ernesto Che Guevara' terrorism support networks.

It should be noted that the authorities announced a million-dollar reward for the leaders of these criminal structures,
