The Colombia team arrived this Monday afternoon in Puerto Ordaz (Venezuela) to face their last match of the South American qualifiers. Those led by the coach, Reinaldo Rueda, were present at the concentration hotel after a two-hour delay at the airport, where the covid-19 tests and the baggage check were carried out.

Earlier this Monday, the 'Tricolor' held its last training session at the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) sports headquarters; however, a particular event touched the fans who accompanied the team as they got on the bus. When James Rodriguez left for the vehicle, two children, managed to overcome the safety scheme and then run to share a few seconds with their idol.

The '10' of the Colombia team greeted the little ones, there were hugs and even the short time was enough for one of them, Luis Cantillo, to take a picture with the steering wheel. For his part, Sebastián García was seen wearing a Millonarios shirt, which goalkeeper Álvaro Montero signed him when he left the concentration point.

It was clear that the plan to 'infiltrate' would not be easy, therefore, it would later be known how the two minors did to achieve their objective. In a dialogue with Caracol News, Sebastián said that one of the members of the 'Cafetero' team was his accomplice: “The doctor told me to bring him a Millionarios shirt and let me do whatever I wanted. (...) I am a fan of Junior and Colombia as well,” he said.

Meanwhile, with his friend Luis they agreed that they would both enter at the same time in order to meet the midfielder of Al-Rayyan from Qatar: “'Sebas' and I made a deal that when the doctor called him I would also come in because I wanted to take a picture with James.”

“Since I was a little boy I wanted to take a picture with him. I wished him good luck and James told me that thanks and that he was taking me in good time,” Cantillo added in a dialogue with the same news program.

Having completed the last training session, the national team left for Venezuelan territory, where there were delays in their arrival in Puerto Ordaz. Reports indicated that the taking of PCR tests took time due to the size of the delegation and, in addition, when the bags were passed through the x-ray machine, it was damaged, which entailed an additional delay.

Around 9:00 at night the Colombia team was finally able to arrive at the concentration hotel. This Tuesday, details will be finalized for the crucial game against 'Vinotinto', directed by José Néstor Pekerman, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Cachamay stadium.

After the match against Bolivia, last Thursday in Barranquilla, it was confirmed that Juan Guillermo Cuadrado would not be available for this match. The Juventus steering wheel received a suspension date due to accumulation of yellow cards, so he would return to Italy to advance work with his club.

However, in addition to this loss is that of the Scottish Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos, who was disaffected from the 'Tricolor' call-up due to a physical problem. This was reported by the FCF in a statement:

“After medical examinations of player Alfredo Morelos, he confirmed a muscle injury to his left thigh, which does not allow him to participate in the next match of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Qatar 2022. For this reason, the striker is called off to start his recovery work. We wish the player a good return to his club”, the communication reads.
