The country's judicial authorities continue to hit hard at the criminal structures of the Gulf Clan, as in recent hours the Prosecutor's Office confirmed the capture of Juan Camilo Molina Medina, also known as alias' Camilo ', who, after several follow-ups, was intercepted by the authorities in a hotel in a major sector of the central western area of the city of Medellín.
Molina Medina moved from the municipality of Apartadó, Antioquia, where she resided, to the capital of Antioquia, since it allegedly aimed to meet with different leaders and delegates of criminal groups operating in the same area, in order to conclude agreements regarding joint work for the departure of through the routes established by these criminals, the authorities managed to intercept aliases' Camilo 'in the Laureles sector.
After his capture, the Attorney General's Office reported: “Through the Specialized Directorate Against Criminal Organizations; and in a joint work with the DIJIN of the National Police, he succeeded in the capture of one of the so-called 'invisible narcos' of the 'Gulf Clan', who would be one of the main articulators of the departure of cocaine hydrochloride along the coasts of Urabá Chocoano and Antioquia.” .
Medina is part of the so-called 'invisible narco', a qualifier attributed to the group of criminals with little presence in this organization. His capture was achieved thanks to joint work with the Dijin and the National Police, through the support of the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations of the Attorney General's Office.
The capture of Juan Camilo Molina Medina is for the purpose of extradition, as the Eastern District Court of Texas in the United States, has made the request in the midst of its fight against drug trafficking across the continent. From the American Court, they point to the person arrested from trafficking in more than 15 tons of cocaine in connection with Central America to the United States, in a period not more than 3 years.
The Prosecutor's Office explained the terms of the request from the US authorities, noting: “Alias Camilo is requested for extradition by the Eastern District Court of Texas (United States) on charges related to a criminal agreement and drug trafficking. The international requirement refers to it as a high-value objective in the fight against transnational trafficking in illicit substances and makes it responsible for moving more than 15 tons of cocaine to Panama and the United States, in less than three years.” .
The investigations carried out allowed us to see the importance of alias' Camilo 'in this criminal structure, since it became the main link of the structures Central Urabá and Efrén Vargas Gutiérrez, belonging to the Gulf Clan, the name of 'invisible narco' arose from his position, since he always remained on the sidelines and in condition of stealth behind the top ringleaders of the illegal group, in order to avoid being detected and pointed out by the authorities.
After his capture, Juan Camilo Molina Medina was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office. From this judicial body, the Directorate of International Affairs, will communicate directly with the United States Embassy in Colombian territory, to establish the different parameters that must be taken into account in formalizing the extradition process within the terms of the law, subsequently sending alias' Camilo 'to appear before the US authorities.
The capture of this drug trafficker adds to the apprehension of Edwin Enrique Oñate Blanco, alias 'El Guajiro', who is accused of belonging to the Manuel José Gaitan substructure of the Gulf Clan exposed as one of the main ringleaders, in addition to this one, was also captured in Monteria, Córdoba, Nilson Luis Pacheco Ruiz, hitman of that group outside the law.
