Sergio Fajardo has already had coffee with Rodolfo Hernández, what did the presidential candidates talk about

The aspirant of Centro Esperanza met with that of the Anti-Corruption Rulers League and sealed the meeting with a red

Senator Angelica Lozano's wish was fulfilled. On the morning of Tuesday, March 29, presidential candidates Sergio Fajardo and Rodolfo Hernández met to drink the coffee that Mayor Claudia López's wife proposed to them a few days ago.

As Infobae Colombia learned, the meeting took place in the apartment of the aspirant of the Center Esperanza Coalition, in Bogotá.

In addition, sources from Fajardo's campaign told this media that it was “a cordial meeting”. The former governor of Antioquia himself shared apart from his meeting with the former mayor of Bucaramanga through his official Twitter account.

There, they were seen very smiling posing for a photo while drinking the coffee they had agreed to a few weeks ago. In addition, Fajardo said they talked about the fight against corruption. However, we will see the issue of possible alliances for both the first and the eventual second round.

“We agree with engineer Rodolfo Hernández that the fight against corruption is the main problem facing Colombia,” said the former mayor of Medellín, in turn, who announced other details of his meeting with the presidential candidate of the Anti-Corruption Rulers League.

For his part, the Santander politician also shared the photo with Sergio Fajardo and announced, as he has done on previous occasions, that his only alliance will be with the Colombians. This publication would rule out a possible accession in the first presidential round on May 29 between the two candidates.

“We agree with Sergio Fajardo that the fight against corruption is Colombia's main problem. We sat down to discuss this concern and how to get the corrupt out of power. MY ONLY ALLIANCE IS WITH THE COLOMBIAN PEOPLE!” , Hernandez wrote on his Twitter profile.

It should be noted that Fajardo and Hernandez have known each other for years. It is even known that when the former president of Bucaramanga won the elections in that city, he went to the center's current presidential candidate to ask him for advice on governing the capital of the department of Santander.

However, that friendship from years ago was not a guarantor for Hernández to give his arm to twist and forge alliances for the presidential elections of this 2022, which will define the successor of Iván Duque, who will leave power on August 7 of this year.

Rodolfo Hernández has said that he is independent and will stay that way until the first presidential round; in fact, he has sought to distance himself from the other candidates such as Gustavo Petro, Federico Gutiérrez and also from Sergio Fajardo himself, the four who lead the intention to vote according to the polls.

But the interest in forging an alliance with Hernandez had already been expressed by Senator Angelica Lozano in internal Coalition discussions. Moreover, it became known that the day before entering the formula of that alliance, formed by Fajardo and Luis Guillermo Murillo in the Registry Office, the congressman put on the table to replace the former Minister of Environment with the former mayor of Bucaramanga.

“You don't add anything, it's nothing personal (...) the only one who could mark something is Rodolfo Hernández,” Lozano would have said at the meeting, as revealed by W Radio. The congresswoman later confirmed that it was a suggestion “to save the coalition”, but denied that she had disparaged Murillo. However, what is known is that this phrase annoyed the interior of the presidential campaign of the Esperanza Center.
