The cancellation of the Jamming Festival, on the same day it started, left very bad feelings in the concert industry, only nationally. A week later, the people affected have not yet been formally contacted about how they will recognize their time and money. The organizers have only stated through statements that they tell little or nothing to people that they did everything to get to the event site. Some of his assistants traveled from outside the country to live some days of music, in the presence of their favorite artists. They never imagined that they would end up in complete chaos.
Infobae has reported about it since the rumors of its cancellation began, when several artists, weeks earlier, confirmed their non-participation. Once the cancellation scandal went viral, journalist Andrea Pérez Martínez carried out an investigation aimed at finding behind the scenes of the organizers' misconduct and mismanagement of users' money, non-payments to their workers and guest artists, as well as their silence in the face of the occurred.
Days have passed and more and more scandals arise around, as well as testimonies of people who were working for the organizers and visitors who came to encounter nothing more than stages in the process of dismantling. Recently, some cases have been reported in the press, such as that of sound engineer Ruddy González, of Venezuelan origin. He says that for a long time he hasn't been so excited about the lineup of a music festival. Damian Marley, Los Cafres, The Prisoners and Public Disorder were the artists he was most interested in. He saved what he could most with his brother and they scheduled the trip to Colombia. In 2021, with the budget already organized and the desire for heaven's sake, the brothers bought the tickets through the official website of the event. That's when the weird thing started. They did not receive proof of tickets, so they wrote to the Jamming social networks. In the first messages they told them not to worry, that they would then send them a code, that when they arrived in Bogotá they could go to Casa Babylon to collect their ballots. Months passed and the uncertainty was greater. There was no interaction of the festival organizers with the people, until they announced the dates on which the event would finally take place. March 2022 arrived, excited like no one else, Ruddy and his brother asked for permission in their respective jobs and set out on their way to Colombia. González says that the trip from Caracas is exhausting. It takes 14 hours by car to get to Cucuta and then to the airport of this city to take the plane to the capital of the country. Quite an odyssey.
The brothers arrived in Bogotá on Thursday, March 17 and stayed at a hotel in Chapinero, near Casa Babylon, with the intention of claiming their tickets and heading to Ibague, where they would be the three days of the event. The following Friday, March 18, they packed their bags and asked for a taxi to take them to the organizers' bar. On the way, which was not so much, a friend of González's wrote to his WhatsApp from Venezuela: “I saw that there are problems with Jamming, do you know what?” Ruddy didn't quite understand what I was saying to him and his brother began to search the internet for information about it. They came across a sea of social media posts and some news stories that accounted for the sudden cancellation of the festival. Ruddy and his brother invested $700 to attend the Jamming. They have not yet received information about the logistics for the return of the money. They lost what was invested in lodging and transportation. They returned to Caracas totally disappointed, upset, but especially sad. They couldn't see any of the artists they wanted.
The case of Jovanna Miranda is another one that has been known. She's Mexican. He came with five friends. Everyone has ended up living the same bad experience. They bought the tickets in November 2021 to attend the three days, but everything changed suddenly. “On Friday, March 18, we arrived at the airport in the morning and went to Casa Babylon to collect the tickets when we heard the news on the radio. There we entered the networks and found out that it had already been canceled.” They immediately understood that it would be quite a dilemma to refund their ballots. They lost money on air tickets and kept watching a lot of news from people who, like them, had done everything to attend the event.
More and more cases arise and in all the story is similar: a fan who invests all his energy, time and money to get to a festival that ended up giving them nothing but trouble. And what do the organizers say? Where are they?
