Under the Banner of Heaven is an upcoming limited series that is based on the book of the same name written by Jon Krakauer. Stars Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones star in this crime drama that tackles a complex murder case involving the Mormon church. Star+b is preparing its release with an official poster focusing on the character of the British actor.
The seven episodes of the psychological drama adapt the real events that were exposed in Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith. The author explored two interconnected stories: the rise of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a double murder that shocked the Mormon community. Garfield will bring to life Detective Jeb Pyre, a policeman of that belief who is assigned to investigate the crime that affected the Lafferty family in 1984.
Pyre will doubt his own beliefs as he discovers the horrors of religious fanaticism and the use of sacred texts as justification. On the other hand, Edgar-Jones will play Brenda Wright Lafferty, one of the victims of the double murder. Sam Worthington, Denise Gough, Wyatt Russell, Billy Howle, Gil Birmingham, Adelaide Clemens, Rory Culkin, Seth Numrich, Chloe Pirrie, Sandra Seacat and Christopher Heyerdahl also make up the cast.
Dustin Lance Black (winner of the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Milk) is the showrunner and was responsible for adapting Krakauer's book for television, while David Mackenzie and Isabel Sandoval were behind the direction of the season. Executive producers include Mackenzie, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Anna Culp, Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, Gillian Berrie. The series is an original FX production.
In the United States, the first two chapters of By Mandate from Heaven will be released on April 28 through Hulu. In Latin America, the miniseries can be seen on Star+, but the official release date has not yet been confirmed. The production will be divided into seven parts, and the remaining five episodes will be released weekly.
Andrew Garfield makes his way on the small screen

Recently Garfield also resumed his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the third installment that also called Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland. The next thing we will see from the acclaimed actor will be the miniseries By Mandate of Heaven, whose season will be shown in Star+ for the region.
