In addition, it considered that the group of legislators that promoted the vacancy “will follow its own agenda”
This Tuesday, the head of state toured the facilities of the Puerto Bermudez Health Center, in the Pasco region, and called on congressmen to accompany him on his work trips in the regions.
APPRECIATE THE VOTE OF CONGRESS
In addition, Castillo thanked Parliament for the rejection of the vacancy motion and stressed that “the foundations of the democratic space have been laid”.
The president stressed that Congress must understand that there are priorities in the country such as education, health, farmers and the shortages of each people, which are above political confrontation.
“We feel committed every day, the small group that has not achieved its mission will follow its own agenda, but we will follow the country's agenda,” he said.
Castillo then visited the Pedro Paulet educational institution, where he confirmed his commitment to the Education sector.
Hours earlier, through his social networks, the head of state welcomed the priority of wisdom, responsibility and democracy and expressed his appreciation to the parliamentarians who voted against the vacancy motion.
“I welcome the fact that wisdom, responsibility and democracy have taken precedence. I recognize the parliamentarians who voted against the vacancy, and I respect the decision of those who did. I call on everyone to close this page and work together for the great challenges of the country,” he wrote.
DINA BOLUARTE SATISFIED WITH RESULT
For her part, the vice-president, Dina Boluarte, was satisfied with the outcome of the debate on the vacancy motion against the president, which did not reach the required votes.
“Thank God yesterday did not go through Congress, with the vote, the issue of vacancy. And it is not from now but since the election was won, since we went to the second round,” Boluarte told TV Peru.
“I think it's time to leave those ideas vacant and so on. It is good that they are opposition, but we want a legal opposition with the Peruvian people, who are committed to the growth of Peru,” he added.
VACANCIA FAILED TO ACHIEVE ITS GOAL
On Monday, the Congress of the Republic rejected the vacancy motion against Pedro Castillo. With 55 votes in favor and 54 against, it was concluded that the president will continue his administration as head of State.
After more than 6 hours of debate, the plenary session of the congress decided to give Castillo Terrones a “second chance”, despite the questions raised at that session.
The vacancy motion had been promoted by Congressman Jorge Montoya (Popular Renewal) and had the signatures of 50 legislators from the Popular Renewal, Fuerza Popular, Somos Peru, Avanza Pais, Podemos Peru and Alianza para el Progreso benches.
