Oscars 2022: Eugenio Derbez received moving congratulations from his children after CODA triumph at the 2022 Oscars

The night of March 27 will be unforgettable for Eugenio Derbez, who after years of constant work inside and outside Mexico achieved another dream in his career after CODA will win the Best Film category at the 2022 Oscars. As expected, the whole country turned to congratulations to the actor and the most special ones were made by his sons Aislinn, Vadhir and José Eduardo, as well as his wife Alessandra Rosaldo.

Eugenio Derbez's firstborn daughter took to her Instagram account to share a heartfelt dedication in honor of her father, where she highlighted how her journey through the medium has been from her first appearances on Mexican television to the international success she has achieved with the film directed by Sian Heder.

“I remember how thousands of doors were closed to him before he got to where he is (including, mockery, rejections, criticism, attacks, etc.) and I know how much each step he has taken has cost him... The interesting thing is that, instead of victimizing himself, obstacles always gave him even more strength and desire to continue, as if those obstacles were an exciting challenge to cross,” he began.

The protagonist of A la mala recalled that for several years her father was characterized by being very strict with his work, a situation that sometimes proved to be counterproductive. After some stumbling blocks, he managed to reduce his perfectionism and paid greater attention to his personal needs, including living with his family.

“Anyone who knows him knows that there is no one more obsessive about perfection than him (which is a double-edged sword, because he often played against it). Curiously, over the years, he realized that it was not so much worth “dying in line” and “fighting” and “sacrificing” his life so much for those dreams,” he continued.

Finally, Aislinn Derbez acknowledged that she admires her father for the dedication he has in his profession, explained that it has been her professional and personal example because she has achieved many dreams and expressed that it is a reflection for her of how a person who is passionate about her work, enjoys it and constantly works to be better, achieves overcome any obstacle and achieve their dreams.

“My dad has been my number one teacher to show me that dreams materialize [...] Something I've always admired about him is how excited he is and how he enjoys everything he does... and I think that's the key [...] Dad, thank you for being such a beautiful example to so many. I'll always be proud to be your daughter. I love you with all my heart,” he concluded.

José Eduardo Derbez, the result of the comedian's relationship with Victoria Ruffo, had a meeting with the media where he said that as soon as Lady Gaga and Liza Minnelli announced CODA as Best Film, he jumped out of emotion, shouted “That mama” and called his father on the phone to congratulate him.

“Everything my dad has done has been with his effort because he fought him, he succeeded and I think he deserves that and more. He is a person who doesn't give up easily and I'm very proud of him,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vadhir Derbez had the opportunity to congratulate his father in person because he accompanied him at the exclusive party organized by Vanity Fair that took place after the 94th Academy Awards. So far, the actor has not expressed his impression after the triumph of Eugenio Derbez, but he did share a short video on his Instagram stories where he bragged about his arrival at the celebration.
