There are musical groups that have won the hearts of Colombians and 'Los 50 de Joselito' is one of these. With memorable covers of songs such as 'María Teresa', 'El bailador' and 'Give me your wife, José', this orchestra achieved its greatest success and recognition thanks to performances by Jorge W. Rendón (Willy), Charly Martinez, Ricardo Ruiz (Ricky) and Alejandro Chavez (Alex).
However, after reaping good fruit with this project, its members took different paths and today the tropical music band is made up of other artists.
And although at the time there were no reasons for the separation and the public was left in doubt, it took several years to learn the real reasons that led to this disintegration.
The person in charge of revealing the fact was Willy, who has become very popular on Tiktok for making videos in which he tells some secrets of 'Joselito's 50'.
About what his former colleagues are doing, Rendón let it be known that he does not have much communication with several of them, although he mentioned that Alejandro Chavez is a soloist and has his project, called 'Joselito Parrandero'; and Charly has been working with him for 13 years in 'Bandaparranda'.
“The one who is missing is Ricky, the last thing I heard about him was that he was living in Bogotá and he was doing other things, with music like nothing anymore,” Willy said in another Tiktok video.
As for whether this generation of singers could meet again, the musician, who currently lives in the municipality of Fusagasugá (Cundinamarca), assured that there is nothing concrete and could be very complex, but he did not completely rule out the fact that he would meet with his former colleagues to make some performances.
It is worth mentioning that after his departure, Willy Rendón was sued by Raúl Campos (creator of the group together with the late Nelson Díaz), according to the businessman and broadcaster in an interview with Caracol Radio, because he had signed a contract under the brand name 'Joselito's 50'. After that, 'Bandaparranda' promised not to use the name again.
In 2016, Alejandro Chavez confessed to the entertainment program 'La red', by Caracol Televisión, about the events that took place in Miami (United States) and kept him in prison for two and a half years.
According to the musician, he was pursued by a stranger while driving a vehicle in the company of his whole family, but when he tried to stop a man threatened him with a firearm and he, in his defense, also drew a gun, after which a shooting broke out.
After being captured by the US authorities, the former member of 'The 50 of Joselito' was charged with illegal carrying of weapons, attempted murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.
